I have switched to pyrex from rubbermaid years ago. I have been trying to avoid plastic. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the lids crack after a couple of years. Otherwise, it works great for storing in fridge and even on counter. And ofcourse, it goes in oven, microwave and freezer too.

We disposed of all our plastic containers. Glass is the only way to go because its sanitary, non-chemical leeching and we can see the contents easily without removing the lid.

I don’t normally use glass storage bowls, but I thought these would be good for convenient reheating in the microwave. That works with only one problem. If you leave the plastic lid on while heating, when you take it out, it deforms as the bowl cools. You need the lid to avoid splatters, else you have to use another plate to cover the bowl. Take the lid off as soon as you remove it from the oven and it stays deformed. After that it never fits as well as before.
