Cut a nice hole in porcelain tile. If used correctly, this is very useful. Should have another release hole to pop the tile out.

I used this to drill holes through porcelain tile used on a shower wall. It would have been easier to use with a bit in the middle to serve as a pilot, but it still worked fine. I just put small piece of OSB behind it and it drilled through with no cracks to the porcelain.

Works great for drilling round holes in glass tile. Cuts true and with no chipping even along edges. I highly recommend this hole saw when drilling a single round hole or even drilling several holes along a radius for a larger diameter. For best results:1) After you layout the hole location place the glass tile on a wood plank with a thin (1/32″) foam sheet between the board and glass tile2) Form a ring around the hole with plumbers putty (about 1/2″ height) and fill with cool water3) Start drill away from tile using high speed setting4) Slowly contact the tile allowing the saw to begin the cutting action5) Let the saw do the work. Apply little pressure rocking the drill to allow the saw to cut the hole6) When the saw breaks through stop the drill and you should have a clean cut through hole

Picked this up to cut holes with my cordless drill for some tile work.Read the instructions on the back of the packaging. No issues cutting out holes for the plumbing. Used a littlle bit of water with a bottle. It cuts faster on slow. Recommend for ceramic tiles.

I bought QEP’s diamond hole saw “kit” at Home Depot to make holes in porcelain tile. Unfortunately, porcelain is a good bit harder than “ceramic” tile, and the bit was taking a long time to bore through. The “pro” version will also work with the water well/guide that comes in the standard “kit.” There seems to be more diamond and it seems to not wear out as fast. It certainly cut down the time to make a hole by at least 50%.

Took about 10 minutes for each hole in ceramic tile, but it worked and that’s all that matters. Had to make a special trip because not every store has these in stock.

Just used this bit today to drill a hole in a tile for the supply valve for a toilet. It worked just great. Most hole saws have a center bit to keep it in alignment. Diamond hole saws are a little different. I would recommend you use a template to keep the bit centered where you want it. The drilling speed is also critical. Use a very slow speed. Keep the bit cool with water. You can build a dam with clay or use a water spray. The bit should not get more than warm to the touch. Drill pressure should also be kept low. Let the bit do the work and don’t force it. I had great results using these tips.

Diamond bits and hole saws are not cheap so you want it to be as durable as possible and to actually cut (I know, what a concept). I work with a variety of glass and tile projects and this hole saw did a good job. Don’t try to force your way through, it’s not good for the bit, and glass especially takes time to cut without breaking. As others have mentioned, it’s also a good idea to start at a slight angle when beginning your cut. I would buy this brand again.

I used this with water to keep it cool even though it says that it can be used with or without water. It went through the tile quickly and easily with no signs of dulling. I am sure I could cut many more holes with it
