The drill bit was purchased to install a shower curtain rod requiring drilling into porcelain tile. The water resevoir provided did not work. The water ran through the device before you inserted the drill bit. In fairness to the bit itself, it did eventually penetrate the tile drilling at 10 second intervals dipping in water between drilling intervals to cool it down.

I didn’t use the water box part but the drill bit was awesome. It cut a perfect hole in a 1/4″ thick glass and left the removed glass in the bit like a piece of wood. Awesome.

We had to drill six holes for the shower door and eight more for the towel/toilet paper bars. By the end it was getting dull, but it really helped us cut into the tile. I recommend that you clean out the tile and mortar that builds up in the core of the bit after each hole or it gets packed in there.

I realize it is tough to drill through tile, but I thought this would be helpful. The water part. I had to just use the bit without the water.

Purchased this product after being very skeptical after reading past reviews… I used this drill bit to drill 6 holes for a new shower glass sliding door. I had to drill through 3/8th inch porcelain tile… I found the bit and the water system to work flawlessly…. The trick is to proceed at a slow speed and to keep the drill bit cool…. READ THE DIRECTIONS AND YOU WILL DO FINE….. This thing works!!!!

Works great

End result was exactly what I wanted. Did a test run on an extra tile which proved very useful. Learned I wasn’t pushing the drill hard enough for fear of cracking the tile. Youtube – Mounting Shower Curtain Bar using a Water Cooled Hollow Diamond Drill Bit. Very helpful!

Good enough. I was able to drill 12 holes through porcelain subway tile. The box is flimsy plastic and does leak during use. Get yourself some regular 3M double sided sticky squares if you need to drill more than 8 holes.

Had to drill through porcelain, much harder than ceramic. Apply pressure on the edges of the cylinder bit. Prepare for water spill also.

Worked great only bad thing is 1 hole out of each seal pad

The bit did an adequate job on the porcelain tile, though it didn’t last very long before wearing out.

simple, easy to use product, cut through tile with no problem. Could use a storage case to keep it all together.

If I could give this item more than five stars I would, those who give it less, have not tried other options to drill through difficult tile. The most important comment is “IT WORKS”. Yes it is a little difficult to use, but again it works. Nothing else that I tried came close, and I spent more than $50 on other options. I renovated my shower with very hard Italian tile. I needed to drill screw holes and could not, until I tried this. it is a kit with drill and an excellent alignment/cooling device . I was not sure how many holes I could drill with the kit (I had many) so I bought two more. I would absolutely recommend it.

The drill bit worked surprisingly well for a cheap diamond bit. I did 2 dozen holes and the last went as well as the first. The box and tape system was a joke, though. Nice idea, but…. I ended up using a spray bottle and tried to control the mess.

We did a bathroom reno and were in the process of installing a DreamLine Aqua Ultra tub door. We needed to drill six holes in our new porcelain tiles. This little tool worked great! Follow the instructions and within 30 seconds you have a 5/16″ hole. I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but the people that gave negative feedback either did not follow the directions or were reality impaired and should not be working with tools. This product works exactly as stated and I would have paid double for the results. Instead of the drill skating all over the tile, the drill guide held the bit in position so there was no damage to the surrounding tile.

I bought a 5/16ths and a 1/4 diamond hole drill from QEP. The 5/16ths was fine. The 1/4 is defective and would not cut anything. Apparently no imbedded diamond dust on the tip. The water resovoir is too small to hold enough water for a single cut through tile. I’ll avoid QEP.

With my new bathroom complete except for the shower door, we faced a tough job of drilling through porcelain tile in order to install the door correctly. After struggling with other tile bits, masonry bits, we finally got on line and did a little more research. We found this bit at Home Depot. For $10.00 it was worth my time to give it a try. We were able to drill the remaining 5 holes in a quarter of the time it took to drill the first 3. I was so happy with it, I passed the info on to my contractor so he can use one on his next job. The instructions were clear, and the bit performed as promised. In addition, we were able to use my battery powered drill. A high powered hammer drill was not required.

I needed to drill through very hard tile in my shower as I was installing grab bars. I tried other drill bits but this is the only one that did a good job. I used a corded electric drill. I recommend this product.
