The gold mStand Laptop Stand from Rain Design lifts your notebook 6″, so you can have a better viewing experience. This stand is compatible with most MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and laptops that have a depth under 10.3″. It positions the laptop’s display to eye level, improving your posture. With a tilt design, it angles the computer’s keyboard so you can still see and have access to the keys. To keep your desk organized, a cable outlet is on board. Furthermore, the mStand is constructed from a single piece of aluminum, which acts as a heat sink to cool your computer.

This stand saved my neck. It lifts my laptop to almost eye level. The surface is small, allowing for a very good airflow underneath. My laptop is much much cooler, the fan barely runs anymore. It has a hole in the back for all the cables, my desk is much cleaner now. Overall a great and super functional design.

Nice stand makes for an uncluttered desk however the stand is light so when lifting the top on the new MacBook Pro the stand moves up and back a little. It would be nice for the bottom of the stand to have a bit more weight

While meant for laptops, I got this to raise my iPad (in an Otterbox Defender case) to a better height and angle when using as a sidecar controller with Pro Tools, Logic, etc. Its quite heavy and very sturdy, so theres virtually no give while in use. The padded front lip is high enough to let me increase the tilt angle even more by setting the IPad in the Otterboxs cover / stand (in low position). The mStands base is set back far enough to allow something like a Contour Shuttle or Tangent Ripple to set on the desk slightly under the front of it. Its really one of my favorite finds this year. And yes, it would probably handle even an old 17 MacBook Pro battleship just fine.

I know, at first blush, many would think $ for a laptop stand?1? But having learned my lesson that when it comes to buying stuff, buy once, use forever, it’s worth every penny. The MStand is just one piece of aluminum which gives it’s strength and Apple like appearance. It’s an incredibly sturdy and solid stand that you can use with just about any laptop. I’ve used it with everything from a 13.3 Macbook Air to a 17 Asus laptop behemoth with no troubles at all. The only con is that it is not adjustable like some other stands might be, but I consider this a minor quibble. Overall, there isn’t a whole lot to say about this aside from that you do get your moneys worth. It’s virtually unbreakable unless you intend to sit/stand on it or run over with your car. Aside from that, I don’t how you can break this piece of gear. The best compliment I can give it is that it’s invisible during use. I place my laptop on it and forget it’s there. No wobbling or moving around. Can’t ask for much more!

Overall a great stand. The quality is great! It’s well built ! Strong base and matches my macbook pro. It has special rubber on it that protect your laptop from touching it directly which prevents scratching it. And it adjusts your angle of viewing at a great angle so you can view the screen easily and if you use an external keyboard and mouse you can use them with ease under the stand and makes your work station look very need and organized. Because of the angle of elevation, it helps the air ventilation which helps to keep the laptop cool. Only con I see is that you can’t adjust the height of the stand (even tho I don’t need to ) and it doesn’t come with a rotating disk on the bottom.

This product looks and feels great. A friend of mine has had one for quite a while and loved it, so I finally decided to buy one. It definitely helps your posture when working on your laptop, by raising your laptop closer to eye-level. One of the main things that made me purchase this stand over other stands is the lip on the bottom which will keep your laptop from sliding off the stand. I have kids and worried about them sliding it off or scratching my MacBook Pro, so this alleviates some of my concern.
