The gold mStand Laptop Stand from Rain Design lifts your notebook 6″, so you can have a better viewing experience. This stand is compatible with most MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and laptops that have a depth under 10.3″. It positions the laptop’s display to eye level, improving your posture. With a tilt design, it angles the computer’s keyboard so you can still see and have access to the keys. To keep your desk organized, a cable outlet is on board. Furthermore, the mStand is constructed from a single piece of aluminum, which acts as a heat sink to cool your computer.

I’ve had one of these at work for my MacBook there. I even brought it home for use during quarantine 2020. I realized that after several personal Zoom meetings that I’d really like to have a stand of my own for my personal MacBook that stays in my house. Perfect height and angle to Zoom like a champ and keep the screen close to normal distance and eye level.

The stand is beautiful, sturdy, and perfectly proportioned. My 13-inch MacBook Pro is robustly sitting on it, does not move or slide or anything else like other reports on larger laptops had mentioned. My favorite thing is how the stopper on the front of the stand is notched in the middle so that one can close and open the MacBook Pro without lifting it or moving it at all. This feature does not appear in the picture of the stand I am looking at as I write this review, but it is an awesome detail. Excellent design.

Use this for my 15 2016 MacBook Pro. The Space Grey matches the color perfectly. The height is perfect and the clearance is perfect if you want to store a keyboard, mouse, or hard drive underneath. Typing doesn’t feel foreign either. Only minor complaint is that the stand has very minor bounce/flex when typing on it. It’s barely noticeable but it is there and worth noting

I scoured the web for a simple functional laptop riser and stand and this is the only one that fits the bill for me. It lifts the laptop display to the perfect viewing level and I can store my keyboard under it to make more room on my desk. I found that an adjustable height feature is really not necessary. The viewing angle is important to me and this one has been designed with a good angle. And very importantly, my MacBook feels secure and stable on it unlike other stands which seem flimsy. Also, nice simple design and isn’t a huge dust catcher like ones with a lot of parts. Who has time or wants to dust! I definitely recommend this one.

I bought this to replace an Allsop shelf. The Allsop is a nice utilitarian shelf however it took up a huge amount of my desk real estate. I purchased this stand and a Laptuk Pro stand. An unexpected benefit of this set up is that my the bottom of my 13 MBP now lines up perfectly with my Thunderbolt monitor when it’s sitting on top of the Laptuk pro. This stand is very nice to look at. It integrates seamlessly with other Mac designs. This stand has a limited footprint, smaller than my laptop so you only lose the space that you would have lost if the laptop were sitting level on the desktop. I initially balked at paying $ for a shelf but I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. It’s well built, attractive and since it has no moving parts, will last for years and years. It happens to look like an apple product but I can’t think of any laptop that couldn’t work with this stand.
