Bought these in store. They are noticably longer than the stock blades it comes with by 1/8 inch. These have a notch in the end that the other blades dont. It does not in anyway affect the the way the blades install in the machine or affect the cut. Ive had this machine for 2.5 years and this is my second set of new blades. Lots of complaints here… its a machine. That spins fast and has alot of stress and vibrations you need to check the bolts of screws on the head and elsewhere for proper tightness every so many hours right after i installed this new set i started cutting up oak walnut and hard maple smooth as glass does what its supposed to do, price was decent, install took 30 minutes tops because youre gonna have some fine wood chips to clean up inside machine on cutter head, 5/5.

These blades are great for planing the hardest of woods. I used them on several board ft of Red and White Oak. As with any planer, removing minimal layers of wood on each pass is key. These blades performed very well and now I’m looking for someone local to sharpen them so i can keep them for a long time!

Removing blades with the Ridgid tool they provide is impossible.

Just purchased my first Ridgid power tool. 13” planer, worked over a couple hardwood cutting boards and it worked flawlessly and left them super smooth. We’ll see how it survives a bunch of hardwoods. I might do a update review on this unit in a couple weeks.

Good benchtop planer, with plenty of brawn to work with. Extra blades a real plus for keeping the tool in service.

Have not used yet, the package says 2 pack, this leads me to believe that I would have 2 sets of 3 blades, The plainer takes 3 blades for one set. I had one set of 3 blades, so what does 2 pack mean?

I have had this tool for 15+ years. Works everytime. The only problem I have is that the fence is not perfect. I needed to put a couple pieces of tape close to the blade to get an exact 90 degree cut. This would be a problem with casting, because there is no way to adjust the fence.Other than that the saw has performed flawlessly for all these years. It’s still tight. And I love being able to make compound cuts. Now if I used sharp blades the saw would even perform better

Excellent product. Using planer on old barn wood making it reusable for vintage cabinets and trim. Looks great.

As always with any Ridgid tool, it the knives work beautifully. I have several major brand name power tools, but Ridgid, I have mostly in my shop. Why? Ridgid has never been anything but excellent to work with and the end result of using this brand is perfection. Endurance? As long as the tools are maintained, you’ll not be disappointed.

I have owned this planer for about 2 years and have maybe 6 hours of use on it. I am a DIYerwho makes small projects pimarily our of pine and poplar so the hardness of the wood is not a big issue. Recently, I planed some painted cabinet panels to remove the paint and I believe that the paint may have been lead based as the blades became dull pretty quickly. I was having symptoms of slow feeding and frequent motor overheating and tripping circuit breaker on the motor. I decided to flip the blades and check the condition of the machine overall. I found the following situations… BLADE CHANGING WAS QUITE EASY AS WAS REMOVING THE COVERS FROM THE MACHINE (5 MINUTES). THE BUSHING (p/n: 089170109051) ON THE GEAR BOX WAS SEVERELY WORN. I DON’T KNOW IF THE GEAR OR SPROCKET ITSELF IS WORN AS I WANTED TO FINISH THE PROJECT WHICH I HAD STARTED. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION I FOUND MANY LOOSE SCREWS AND BOLTS AND A BROKEN GEARBOX GUARD. I PROCEEDED TO TIGHTEN ALL LOOSE COMPONENTS, REASSEMBLED THE MACHINE AND FINISHED MY WORK. THE PLANER NOW SOUNDS AND WORKS MUCH BETTER THAN WHEN IT CAME OUT OF THE BOX!! NOW THAT I HAVE THE TIME, I INTEND TO DISASSEMBLE THE GEARBOX AND CHECK FOR ANY MORE WORN OR DAMAGED PARTS. AS THIS MACHINE WAS A GIFT, I DIDN’T HAVE THE RECEIPT IN ORDER TO FILL OUT THE WARRANTY. FRANKLY, I’D RATHER DO THE WORK MYSELF AND LEARN ABOUT THE WORKINGS OF THIS MACHINE. MY RECOMMENDATION TO ANYONE WHO OWNS OR WILL OWN THIS MACHINE IS TO FIRST REMOVE THE COVERS AND EXAMINE IT FOR LOOSE OR MISSING SCREWS OR BOLTS. IT WORKS SO MUCH BETTER NOW, EVEN WITH THE WORN BUSHING AND IS A LOT QUIETER TOO.
