This unit looks like something from a toy store. But it is actually a very cleverly designed, compact, extremely versatile machine for light to medium occaisional use. It is quieter than a portable belt sander and seems to be as powerful. It has 5 sanding sleeves for concave curves plus the end of the belt sander can easily be used as a 3″ drum, giving you a 6th diameter. Extra large work surface and slot for mitre gauge. Just started using it. So far so good.

Looks solidly built, does the job well. Rigid’s lifetime warranty is worth the price.

It works great once the sandpaper is adjusted properly. The directions don’t really explain how to adjust them properly so its a bit of trial an error. The spindle paper keeps riding up off the spindle every time I use it, which is annoying. Still a good and simple machine that works how I want it to.

The most versatile sander you will ever use. I used this for sharing knife handles when I was making knives. I ran into unfortunate events and had to sell me knife shop. Now I’m able to start purchasing tools again two years, this is the first thing I’m buying, today.

Missing part. Contacted ridgid and left message. Haven’t received response after 2 weeks. Good product. Lousy customer service.

Bought this sander last week and so far only used it once. Only issue I’ve seen thus far is getting the sanding drum on the spindle. The drum is rubber and it’s VERY difficult to get on. Now that it’s on, it’s even more difficult to get off.

some vibration, dust collection average at best though

Works great

Great machine overall, I like how many different size sanding spindles it can take, and it’s super easy to change them out. The belt seems to run a little rough with some vibration, but nothing that concerns me. I use it just about daily in my wood shop. Lifetime Service Agreement is a great perk as well, make sure to register for the LSA as soon as you get it.

I bought this at my local HD about 8 years ago and have used it for a variety of woodworking projects. It’s easy to set up and adjust, and changing the sander is simple. It can be a real step up for the types of tasks you can take on, whether it’s the size of the effort or the types of sanding you need to do. We’ve used it for projects with large numbers of items (my son made a couple of hundred of toys for a Christmas charity, and found this easy to use). I also have had work where I really appreciated the ease and capabilities that it offered. IMO, get one, you’ll be glad you have it.

Works like a charm

This tool is awesome! Easy set up and super light. My only issue with it is that for some reason it doesn’t come with the 1/2″ spindle, and I can’t seem to find one for it.

Great machine. Researched and Looked at several brands and decided on this one. Table was set up perfectly out of the box. Really love this sander. Will add additional dust collector port on top to aid in clearing dust, several you tubers show how.

Perfect for musical instrument makers

Seems to work pretty well, but I have no idea how long it will last.Good luck getting the lifetime warranty. Ridgid will take forever to tell you that they can’t process your application, send you to a website that doesn’t work, and never respond again.

It’s a very good Sander, the best i have researched of all the oscillating sanders. It has a large table, enough power as long as you don’t push your work piece too hard into sanding belt. I thought the dust collection was just ok. I’m working in my basement so dust collection is important.

Works just as it should. I use it mostly for sanding end grain. Saves on the elbow grease.
