RIDGID introduces the Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander. Constructed as two tools in one, the RIDGID Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander operates with rotary and oscillating motion to help you effortlessly achieve burn-free finishes on edges, contours, faces, inside curves and outside curves. The tool-free conversion from belt to spindle helps you quickly and easily make changes, so you can complete multiple jobs in the time it would take for one. The onboard accessory storage neatly holds the belt mechanism, washers, and more for user convenience. Backed by the RIDGID Lifetime Service Agreement, this Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander includes an already installed 4 in. x 24 in. sanding belt and operator’s manual.

I think I’ve had this for about 10 years (Maybe more). I can’t imagine not having it. Rock solid, never had a problem with it, and it gets a lot of use.The only issue I have had is the nut that tightens the spindle down comes loose during heavy use, but that was easy enough to fix with a little blue locktite. The original drum paper lasted a long time before they wore out.I’ve gone through far more belts than drum paper.Dust collection is pretty good. With a vacuum it gets 85-90% of dust. with a dust collector and a second hose by the wide end of the drum it gets 98%.I have it on it’s own wheeled cabinet, so I can store all the different grit belts underneath.If it ever breaks I would not hesitate to buy another one.

I think this belt / spindle sander is a good value. You can’t beat the lifetime warranty. My only issue is I experience a lot of vibration, especially when using the spindle. I suppose I could have spent over $1,500 and bought a spindle sander with a cast iron table, but at $269 I am willing to put up with a little vibration.

Very pleased with my purchase have used for about s month now and it does great. We have it setup with a ridgid shopvac connected and have not had any issues. Love the way everything stores away so it does not get lost in a drawer. The oscillating motion is awsome so now I do not have to move my wood up and down to wear the paper evenly it does it for me and I can focus on finishing the product instead. My 11 year old son uses this in his wood workings as well. I would purchase again and highly recommend.
