At 6.0 peak horsepower, this vac delivers the power for heavy-duty pro cleanups. Its redesigned scroll technology gives the NXT vac an increase in power, suction, and lift. Drum keying optimizes vac airflow and latches tightly seal lid to drum to avoid suction loss and improve convenience when carrying or dumping. The 14 Gal. NXT vac includes the first ever 2-1/2 in. locking accessories that lock onto a wand or hose which means no downtime from attachments coming apart. The 2-1/2 in. diameter size resists clogs and makes cleaning large messes quick and easy. This large capacity vac features a 2-piece drum construction that offers the toughest RIDGID durability. For added convenience, this vacuum has an ergonomic front-to-back top carry handle offering a more natural carry, a large power switch that’s easy to flip with work gloves, drum carry handles for a comfort grip when lifting, and 4 swivel casters for 360° movement during cleanup. A tool storage caddy on the back of the vac securely stores attached accessories even when lifting and emptying the drum. Hose storage keeps the hose neatly on board and caster feet provide secondary storage for needed attachments.

I bought this unit for light car detailing and for rug vacuuming, expecting this thing to be alright but noisy and hard to maneuver.Man was I wrong, this vacuum may be quieter than your house vac! Its pretty powerful, but it does diminish a tiny bit after using it for awhile. BUT!After closer examination I did see that the harsh right angle on the inlet of the hose when it reaches the tub can have paper and other rubbish hang on to, and after clearing that, the suction power seemed to get much better. All in all its a great option, if a little spendy.

I bought this for my wood shop about a month ago. I wanted something small enough to tuck in the corner but big enough that I wasn’t emptying it every other day. I also attach this to my miter saw and rotary saw almost daily and it does the job well (I purchased the attachment separately). The sucking power will pull saw dust from across my work table so no complaints there either. All in all it’s exactly what I wanted and I’m happy with the product.
