Used Ridgid glass 10″ blade to cut porcelain for shower, tub surround, and bathroom floor. No chipping at all, but tends to clog quickly, at least with the porcelain. Need to clean blade by cutting rubbing stone often. If you do this, you will be happy with this blade.

I give it 3 because it cuts an undeniably beautiful edge onto the tile, no chipping whatsoever on the surface – *when* it cuts right!! On the back side, it chips the backing slightly, but if you’re using a white thinset, then you can cover those up (I was using a 3×9 glass subway tile with a white backing). I don’t give this any higher stars because of how long it takes to cut. I know glass is tough and temperamental at times, but it was taking over 60 seconds to cut through 3 inches of a subway tile. I turned the water up on my wet saw and moved very slow through the cut, and it would go about half an inch before it would bind up and sparks would fly everywhere. After about 3 of those bind-ups, the piece would snap in half, or snap the very edge off and the time and precision was wasted. I was constantly moving a quarter inch at a time, backing the blade out, moving showly and if it wasn’t breaking, it was taking over 90 seconds to make one cut at that rate. I was also sure to use pieces that had acclimated to the inside temperature.I ended up switching back to my regular blade halfway through the project, cut at roughly the same speed, and tripled my time savings with the same minimal imperfections to the tile. With 90% of the cuts being in the corners or under the outlet trim kits, it’s working better this way. So I’m not sure if the blade was getting dull already? I had done about 6′ of full 18″ backsplash in a herringbone pattern before I changed the blade out.

I was cutting a mixed mosaic of glass and ceramic tile for our kitchen backsplash. The blade worked very well on both. The 5 star rating was earned by the combo of performance AND price

Have used the wet saw a lot on porcelain tile but first time cutting glass tile – read some reviews that this glass blade was decent – I have to say it did a great job on our glass tile – ran plenty of clean water – had a very solid flat surface for the cut – cut with back side up and did not pull the tile back but instead turned the saw off –

This was my first experience with glass tile. I tried using my standard diamond tile blade but the chipping was so bad I had to look for an alternative. After a online search, I looked at HomeDepot.com and found these “Glass” blades. And though I hadn’t noticed them on their shelves before, there they were. In my store. My understanding is that a finer grain of diamond is used to insure a smoother cut. I bought the 10″ for my tile saw and a 4-1/2″ blade for my grinder. This wasn’t a complicated job, but with glass tile, the mosaic size, and odd wall angles, there would be no hiding edges with grout. Perfection was required and the blades did not disappoint. In addition, the cost of the blade was very reasonable for a specialty tool and I have come to trust Home Depot and the Ridgid brand. Note: It is very important when cutting glass tile with diamond blades that they be cut using water. Glass heats up so fast and is very brittle so wet cutting is a must.
