Best six hundred bucks I have ever spent on a tool. Assembly was easy enough. An makes all my rough lumber flat and square. Wish I would have bought sooner.

This is a good product and I have made extensive use of it so far. If I have a complaint the dust collection is not great. But the build was straight forward although most likely you will need two people

Jointer is quiet and was set from the factory for Co-planer. Adjusting the depth of cut is easy. In and out feed tables are a little short but manageable. I ended up using a roller stand to catch the stock after it leaves the out feed table. Feed rate has to be fairly slow to keep from getting to bad of scallops. Used it on walnut, cherry, maple, Purple Heart and pine totaling about 50 linear feet through it. Most of which was walnut and maple. If you don’t have a dust collection system the shavings will not discharge and clog it. So far it’s done fine.

Everything went together well. Easy to follow directions and fairly straight forward assembly. Blades had knick in them out of the box, unfortunately, which was disappointing.

The only decent planer/jointer in that price range. Couple that with free delivery and lifetime warranty; unbeatable.

The Ridgid Jointer is a very good entry level jointer. The jointer was easy to put together. The instructions were very helpful and well written. Assembly does require two people. It wasn’t difficult to get it square. The only cons are the plastic angle setup tool is useless and the height is on the shorter side. I built a mobile base from 2x4s to raise the jointer.

Assembly took some work, but it functions perfectly.

It’s just great, it runs smoothly and isn’t really loud. Easy to use, easy to assemble and really easy to calibrate. But it’s heavy so be careful when assembly don’t hurt your back.
Verdie Hessel (verified owner) –
Very solidly built and stable. Easy to assemble with good directions. Very quiet when operating with multiple adjustment options for different tasks.

Assembly was complicated by the unclear instructions. However, this is a solid and well-built jointer. Cutting surface is made of cast iron, so the jointer is very heavy (over 200 lbs). I ordered a set of casters from a third party manufacturer which makes the jointer very portable and easy to move around the garage. Also replaced the 3-knife cutter head with a “shelix” helical cutter head ($310) from byrd tools to improve the cut quality and reduce noise during cutting. Awesome tool for facing rough cut wood with a flat surface.
