Hose was orange which I believe helped it suck a lot harder. Glad I went with this premium and not the cheaper black plastic hose, mine kept getting kinked and it was driving me nuts. So I shelled out the extra clams and purchased this bad boy.

I was going to give this product a poor review until I spoke with RIDGID’s customer service, who were quick to respond and helped me figure out the issues I was having. Essentially, I installed the two #4 adapters on both ends of my hose because they looked like they would fit the best. After attaching them, I quickly realized that it was quite difficult to attach/detach it from my vacuum and my older accessories simply did not fit. When I went to change out the adapters, I noticed they weren’t coming loose. My chat with customer service confirmed that while the tapered expansion cuff itself is removable, once you install an adapter into it, the adapter cannot be removed. Unfortunately, the only solution is to special order a replacement for it…bummer. It turns out the attachment I was supposed to use with my older model vacuum’s inlet was #5 and the attachment for the accessories was #1 (which I can actually cram into the #4 and get it working). I would give it 5 stars if the adapters were interchangeable, meaning seating them in the cuffs wasn’t permanent. Apart from that, this is a great high quality hose with a nice set of adapters that is definitely an upgrade from the basic hoses that come with RIDGID vacuums. It feels more solid, stretches and bends better, and doesn’t seem to want to pull my vacuum onto it’s side as much. Worth picking up if you’ve got an old kinked hose you’re unhappy with.

The only issue I had with this hose kit, there is no attachment to connect this hose to my Rigid 12 Gal Vacuum. I’ll have to find an attachment at Home Depot.

The adapters of this kit do not fit the inlet of a 2009 Rigid vacuum, which measures 2-21/32″ I.D. A work around is to cutoff the hose from the original inlet piece, leaving about 1-1/2″ of hose. Then one of the new hose adapters will fit snugly over the hose pigtail; secure with duct tape.
