Easy to assemble if you have two people. Seems to cut a nice clean hole.

The Ridgid Drill Press is very heavy duty and seems to be well built for years of trouble-free use. The most difficult part about assembling this drill press is that the head assembly is extremely heavy and has to lifted up to install on the column. It should require two people but I was able to manage it by myself by tilting the table and column at an angle and supporting it so it didn’t fall until I could slip the head onto the column and stand it back upright. The rack seems to be loose and floating and wants to pivot when raising and lowering the table. I called Ridgid’s Technical Support and spoke with them and they said that was normal. I believe I may install set screws in the rack to keep it stationary if it poses any problems. I haven’t used it much to see how well it drills but believe it should be just fine like all other Ridgid tools I own. I’m not really fond of the LED light as it is not as bright as I’d wish but it does an OK job.

Drill works great has a nice height range. But light didn’t work still have to get that fixed they hadn’t been open during the holidays to get that resolved. It’s solid.

Has the extra power that we need to drill larger holes into hard woods.

So I have only had this drill press for a couple months and will update this review after a longer period of time if necessary but so far I am very pleased with this drill press. I will say this is my first drill press so I have nothing to compare it to, but it arrived in good shape with no damage (as I was worried it might based off other reviews). This was very simple to assemble and I only had to get help from a friend one time to lift it off the ground (It is very heavy!!) One thing I noticed is that the table is solid all the way through. Other drill presses I have seen have openings or drilled out portions in the table for clamps or something, but this table is one solid piece with what appears to be t-track shapes in the channel. I am not sure if I will love or hate that eventually but for right now its totally fine and feels super sturdy. The LED light is nice, and the drill chuck feels solid and well made too! I love the fact that by the way it is designed I can tighten and loosen without any other tools. If you are like me and had no knowledge with how a drill press like this one works heading into it then you may also be surprised by the belts and how you have to change them to change the speed. I have it set on a slower speed because I primarily use forstner bits and so far I haven’t had to change the speeds yet to know how difficult that is going to be. Altogether this is a large, sturdy, heavy, solid drill press. I am glad I waited and didn’t settle for a smaller bench top press. My friend’s who have bench tops tell me that I have no idea how much better this floor standing press is in comparison

The packaging was little beat up but everything inside was fine. It was easy to put together and worked great I love the key less chuck it hasn’t failed me on anything yet. The arrival date kept getting pushed back but that was a shipper thing. Picked it up at the store when it came in.

Love my new drill

The drill press was easy to assemble. Needed to be adjusted to reduce vibration. I don’t think the belt adjustment lever is working. Still working on it. Overall satisfied.

Easy to assemble very sturdy like it a lot perfect for home shop

Disappointed, the pulley housing is resting on the motor screws, vibration and noise terrible. Instructions say loosen two screws use handle to adjust belts, the motor is completely forward, no available adjustment, had to pry tensioner to adjust belts. Expected better quality.

I had the opportunity to use this several times now and what a joy it is to use. It does not take much more than 45 minutes to and hours to assemble and put to use. this is a great drill press for the money whether you want to use for metal or wood, has plenty of power for either.

Great product much heavier duty than i expected. Realy enjoying it

I bought this to do woodworking, especially for cutting mortises. However, the keyless chuck is too long to allow attachment of my mortising chisel attachment to the quill. I have 90 days to find a standard keyed chuck which is shorter or I’ll be taking it back.

Good except the table doesn’t have holes for mounting a vise or holes for clamps used to hold down material.Called Rigid for a solution and they informed me that there were no accessory that could be ordered to solve the problem. That’s the way it is made. Will have to come up with my own device.

Solid machine at a good value. The only issue was having to wait until they were restocked online. However, I didn’t want a different press so I waited, and glad that I did.

The box was destroyed and the top lid was bent a little bit but all in all works good
