The drill press works good but the packaging was terrible. I am surprised that I received all of the parts. The rack to crank the table up and down could have been designed better. I wish it was made in the U S A . U S dollars for U S A product.

Ridgid has a great warranty which attracted me to this product. The chuck is cumbersome and requires two hands to tighten, making it difficult to set the drill. There are no thru-holes in the drill table making it difficult to mount the vice attachments. Overall this is an average drill at best. If your looking for a higher end product this is not for you. If average is what you want that you will be satisfied.

I’m giving it a 3 for now because I haven’t been able to use it yet. It went together easy enough but it didn’t come with a strap wrench and without that you can’t tighten the chuck. We called Rigid and the person that took our call said there was 2 wrenches listed and she wasn’t sure which one was the strap wrench so she was going to send both. It’s been 2 weeks and we haven’t received them yet.

I like the drill does a great job and cant beat the warranty i have all rigid power tools but i wish this one would be variable speed most drill presses are even the harbor freight one is for less money besides that no complaints yet but only had it for a week now

The drill press is very good and well built. One thing I think can be improved on is the keyless chuck. It tends to loosen up with larger drill bits which always tend to have a little vibration. Also because it is designed to tighten more with the natural rotation it is sometimes a challenge to loosen and remove some of the smaller bits.My old drill press with the mechanical chuck held better in those situations.
