Great drill press for the money! A little complicated to assemble as instructions are in the front and parts descriptions and pictures are in the back. Once fully assembled though, the drill press operates above my expectations. Love the speed/material chart included inside the cover

Buying experience at HD was good. Drill press assembled well bit does take a bit of time. It was nicely packaged. Runs nicely, keyless chuck is a pleasure to use (but haven’t tested it’s possible slippage under high torque conditions).Spindle travel is a bit over 3″ and no more.

Myself, being taller than the drill press made it hard to see the teeth of the jaws for the key less chuck. I bought a regular chuck for it so I can now see the jaws as they are engaging the bit. Now if I can fix the height problem I’ll be set.

A little disappointed upon receiving this drill. Box was completely sealed butwhen I opened it parts were missing. Called Home depot did not get any help. Called Ridgid directly and they gladly shipped missing parts at no charge. Other than that this drill meet all my expectations and more.

Drill press was easy to assemble but it did come with a few paint defects I had to repaint the orange hood and the black switch plate which had the paint flaked offEasy fixes but shouldn’t have come that way.

The mechanism letting the table up and down is rickety and cumbersome. It takes more effort than it should to change the table height and keep everything centered. The light isn’t bright at all. I personally don’t like the keyless chuck. It really requires three hands. But it bores holes.

Solid build. Good features for the price. Came with a drift key that was not described in the book, which is odd as it has a fixed shaft (no removable taper insert) with a threaded end for the chuck.
