We already had a larger router that was attached to a work bench and had to remove it every time we need to use it on a smaller project. This is so handy and easily available. We live it. Just what we needed . Good purchase

I got this to cut a mortise for a hinge on a box. Easily hold in one hand with a finger over the stop switch. Gradual start so you don’t blow a fuse. Variable speed so you can set the speed for your wood type and job. Easy large movements of bit depth, and well designed micro adjustment dial for small depth adjustments, with helpful arrows. Light for work area that actually works. Easy change of bit with one wrench (there is a button that holds the shaft) or you can use two wrenches. 1/4 inch collet. Only thing I would change is the dust collection system (there is none). But there is a wide port and light so you can see what you are cutting. Comes with an edge guide, and a pattern edge trimmer bit.

Contrary to what people are saying… There is dust port that can be purchased for this router. I know because I bought several of them and they work perfectly. Apparently telling people where to get these is against HD posting rules so everyone will have to look for themselves. HD is a great company, why don’t they want people to know about this?I suggest you start looking at the battery version of this router for hints on where to get this port.

This router perform great for it’s size and power. Accomplish the job en minutes compared to a chisel and hammer process. I will give it a 10 .Very happy with the results. Can’t wait to use it again. Was fun working with it.

It seems like a decent tool for the price. In my opinion it would be fine if you didn’t change bits very often. I found that the mechanism for releasing and tightening the collet is poorly designed. If nothing else they should provide an asymmetrical wrench so you can get a better angle on the collet. I wanted to like this but ultimately I returned it and spent a little more on a Dewalt compact router.

Purchased this to replace an older Bosch unit..I like the variable speed . The on/off switch above the power cord will take a little getting used to. As with my Bosch changing bits requires the removal of the motor from the base , most of the time. Overall it handles well, the two base plates are nice to have, and it cuts well. A great palm router at a reasonable price

Remember this router has its limites. It is not for heavy duty use. However it is light and easy to use for anyone.

I am very pleased with this compact router. The build quality is very impressive and the accessories are useful. I particularly like the see-through plastic base and the Led light which makes it easy to follow pencil marks while routing grooves. The lifetime warranty is definitely an added plus. My only wish would be for an optional vacuum attachment.

I’ve had this router for several years. It’s gotten a lot of use and still works great. One of the bearings sometimes makes a bit of noise when starting the router, but that doesn’t affect its operation.

This is the second router like this… they work great. The first I did not register so I am buying the bearings for the first one. We only run it with a 1/8″ round over cutter. After over 2 years the bearings started to make noise. They had been run on all of our face frames outside and inside plus the back edge of the many doors we build for others and ours. This routers are a little slow to wind up, give them time to reach full run and they will work for your shop also.
