For added convenience, the onboard vacuum adaptor fits standard 1-1/4 in. or 2-1/2 in. hoses. And, for a cleaner, virtually dust-free work environment, the AIRGUARD on-board active dust collection system collects up to 90% of dust.

It’s great. It feels good in the palm of my hand with not a lot excessive vibration. The sheet fit well provided you install the paper in the front of the sander 1st then install it on the back. A 1/4 Sheet fits perfect. I’m not sure why some people say the 1/4 sheet doesn’t fit. Works for me!

I never realized how vastly different the results, from one sander to another. My previous sander was powerful, but I’d have to devote hours to hand-sanding, to remove the circular marks left behind (no matter how fine the grit I used, while power sanding). Also, the vacuum attachment really does cut down on dust, I’d say about 90%, as claimed.

Good sheet sander, easy to load the sandpaper sheet and Pierce the dust holes with the piercing too but it does get a bit warm under your palm while in use, nothing unbearable but just something I noticed.

This replaces a similar Ryobi sander. This Ridged sander is easier to change paper, the old one needed the sanding sheet to have its corners folded because the clamping bar was too narrow.

This sander works well so far. Used it to sand the edges of a 250 sq ft deck. Im not sure the dust collection works, most dont so I dont really care. The thing that bothers me is the power on switch – I always end up shutting it off inadvertently during use. I feel like the pad underneath of the paper should be stronger. I have not experienced a problem with the clip as others have stated, so i’ll keep an eye on it. I will say although it isnt mentioned, the anti-vibration of this tool makes it easy to use. I like the price, I like the bag it comes with, I like the look.

The only improvement would be to the rubber that holds the paper in place:Already worned out after a few hours of using 50 and 80 grade sand papers.I hope the warranty will apply and fix this or trade with a new one.

I’ve had this tool for a while now and it has held up to MANY projects and is still running good. The paper is a tad bit hard to load on your own, I had to have my husband pull the tabs for me while I held the paper in place. Maybe my hands were too tiny I don’t know but I couldn’t seem to manage it without his help. My main complaint and the reason it’s getting a 4 star instead of 5 is that the vibration is pretty bad and my hands start to itch and tingle on larger projects and I have to take breaks more often than I’d like to. Wearing gloves helps a little, but my friend’s orbital sander that I borrow sometimes doesn’t seem to have this problem at all.

Great 1/4th sheet sander. Dust port that connects to my vacuum really eliminates sanding dust in the work area. Lifetime warranty is one of the most important reasons I bought this brand. I have several other Ridgid products. I highly recommend Ridgid products.

Works great but Home Depot would be better if they carried the proper 1/4 sheets sandpaper with holes like you get when you buy the sander since it has a dust bag and option to hook up to a vacuum to eliminate most of the dust especially if sanding a wall. I could only find solid 1/4 sheets sandpaper.
