The RIDGID 6 in. Variable-Speed Dual Random Orbit Sander features electronic variable speed control of 4000 OPM to 10,000 OPM (no load speeds) to maintain constant speed and power under load applications. Its soft-start motor gradually increases the speed of the sander to provide an even finish. Its onboard vacuum adaptor fits standard 1-1/4 in. or 2-1/2 in. hoses for a cleaner, virtually dust-free work environment.

Love this sander. It smooths wood twice as fast as my 5″ palm sander, which I now use as a dedicated 220 grit sander. It is well balanced, hard to bog down, easy to hook to my vacuum hose and leaves no swirl marks even with 80 grit. I’d give it 5 stars if it had a longer cord and the same on/off switch as Rigid’s 5″ orbital instead of a normally off type trigger switch with a push button lock. When moving the sander around on wood, it’s too easy to bump the trigger and trip off the hold.

Awesome sander. Gets the job done quickly. The soft start is a nice feature. Didn’t think it would make a difference. It does. Sanded for several hours over two days and no hand stiffness or vibrating hands when I stopped. Very comfortable and esay to use.

Be aware of the paper, They sell the 6″ paper but it has no holes. Make sure you get velcro with holes, the other kind they have plenty of falls off. Good sander though.
