The RIDGID 6 in. Variable-Speed Dual Random Orbit Sander features electronic variable speed control of 4000 OPM to 10,000 OPM (no load speeds) to maintain constant speed and power under load applications. Its soft-start motor gradually increases the speed of the sander to provide an even finish. Its onboard vacuum adaptor fits standard 1-1/4 in. or 2-1/2 in. hoses for a cleaner, virtually dust-free work environment.

Overall I like sander. It works well. The attachment for the 1-1/4 vacuum hose was a little loose but a wrap of tape on the hose works well. If I had it to do over again I would purchase a 5” pad instead of the 6”. I found that 6” discs with holes are not to find in different grits.

As many others I’ve had to replace my pad which is very easy to do. I attributed it to abuse since I had sanded multiple large beams which were very rough as well as a slate table that I sanded. I think it was due to the excessive vibration that the fibreglass pad broke off. The. I ration seems to happen when sanding uneven surfaces or corners at the high speeds which is understandable. This is a very tough tool in my opinion and the pad was cheap enough to replace. I also love the adjustability of the tool. The cord is very long and very tough and it also has a Velcro and a light on it. Overall a very good tool.

Its heavier than I expected, which worried me at first I soon realized that the weight was an advantage. I have to apply virtually no pressure when sanding. I just let the sander do the work.

Very serious sander. It is pretty heavy, and not too easy to use as a hand sander on the side of a 1X, for example. But it does do a good job. Also, while the bag does collect a bit of sawdust, to say it is 90% is ridiculous. It probably collects more like 50% of the dust. I’ve been using it on an oak floor, and it is doing the job, but it is not fast. (No sander is fast on removing varnish from an oak floor.)You do get the impression that this is a very durable tool, and it will run all day. You can bear down on it and it will take the pressure.

I have to agree with the reviews about how to attach the sand paper. It is a bit tricky. We are using it to sand the floor we just put in and it is working great. I comes with the attachment to use the hose from our shop vac so we don’t have to constantly empty the bag. I can’t wait to use it on other projects.

Powered through an 1100 sq ft deck in no time. Has oscillating 1/8” (low impact) or 1/4” (High impact) options. 6” Diameter perfectly matches 5/4 x 6” decking. This device is purpose built. Do not sand large surface areas with a smaller sander.

Works as it should. Minimal selection on grits available. Local replacement pads only found at HD. Wife said it was a little heavy to sand over head. Works good on wood and epoxy too. I’ve used both sizes of vacuum attachment. 1 1/4″ gives more flexibility In movement but acoustically, high pitch used with my shop vac. 2 1/2″ high pitch is gone but a bit bulky with my setup. Overall good sander.

i know i might be getting cart before the horse but i got this sander yesterday and it was the display at home depot,,no one even online had one,,,and i read alot of negative reviews about the velcro sanding pad coming off,,, but i bought it anyway,,,so far it really does a good job,,i built a box to put stuff in ,,and to make all the over overhangs even i sanded it down flush and it really did do a good job,,,i might not feel this way after i have used it for awhile ,,but at this moment,,,im completely satisfied with this sander,,,i have a 5 inch,,,and i never knew it would be that much of a difference,,but it really is,,,
