Great belt sander at a great price. Only reason for 4 stars is that my older Ridgid tools have better extensions on them that came with a lit plug and a Velcro strap for easier cleaner storage. This sander makes quick work of projects and the auto centering works really well. Also the dust collector works extremely well. I was surprised how little fine dust comes off of the belt.

works good with lite pressure, but somewhat under powered if you are used to other brands.

Really like the no slip feature on the belt! So far it works great, and I haven’t had to stop to put the belt on at all!

Works as expected, dust bag clogged within an hour and is not easy to clean without taking apart sander. Tracking works well.

It is a nice unit but it feels a bit cheap. However it does the job and has taken the stress I have given it so far.

compact design, powerful, decent dust extraction

Difficult getting into tight places because of the size and the power is ok

My Chicago/Harbor Freight sander died after several years, so I thought I would pay more and get a better sander. So far (6 months) it is just so-so. I DO NOT like the slow start up to get to speed. Maximum speed is very slow. Dust collector seems to work OK. Self-tracking belt? Didn’t know it was supposed to have one. I have manually centered the belt each time I put a new one on, and it seems to have stayed centered after that. I would have preferred a 3×21 belt, but Ridgid don’t make one. Easy belt change. Noise seems average for a sander. As seems to be the case with all new sanders, you cannot turn it upside down on a bench, which is a real pain. I have a Ridgid shop vac (a shop vac is a shop vac), a reciprocating saw (which is a heavy-duty beast!), a cordless drill/driver (which is the best one I have ever had), a multi-tool (which is great), but this sander is disappointing.I would only recommend for small light-duty jobs.

This belt sander might be one of the best out there and its a great price. The AIRGAURD Technology is not a gimmic…you can literally run it over a pile of sawdust and it will suck it up into the dust collector. I love it for the great dust collecting ability.

Good medium duty sander for the price. Fair value for a good tool.

Handles real easy, belt change is quick and simple. I would recommend this sander to anybody doing wood work.

Light weight, powerful, great value — belt stays true. Had to adjust a bit to it being angled (earlier one was parallel to the work), but no big deal.

Good belt sander for small projects and for kids to use. I wouldn’t recommend for larger projects or considered an actors
