I’ve used it once so fare and it works good and I like the smaller size to use in the shop and seems to be built well so only time well tell.

Excellent for precise cuts, well balanced and easy to handle and see the blade cutting. Great adjustment features!

love the saw , no problems plenty of power. I already have the ridgid 7 1/4 worm gear drive so this little baby has plenty of power and Go RIDGID

My first investment in a circular saw. Went with Rigid as our contractor friend has used Rigid tools for years, and indicated he’s been very pleased with them. Can’t compare it to brands/models as I’m a novice, but I will say it seems very solidly built (some comments talked about something breaking on it, I haven’t had it long but I don’t see anything that’s likely to break in the foreseeable future), reasonably light, and even for a novice like me it was easy to setup, adjust, and make a perfect cut on my first use.

Light body. Great power. Precision construction for accurate angles and straight cuts. Love it. I have larger and far heavier worm drive saws that are accurate. There are many times where I need the lighter saw. This Rigid does an excellent job.

I bought this about 3 years ago and it was in storage in the original box, because I planned to make some custom jigs for the unit, and finally had the opening to work on it. What I found with the saw, though made it possible to only qualify for one to three stars. I have not actually placed it into service yet, but it is on the way, which is what prompted this review. The good news: this model is better than the last. The bad news: still a fundamental problem — the basics — the base plate is not parallel to the blade. Maybe the next generation of designers will figure it out. I feel for all the contractors who think they have a good thing and don’t know any better. In the sample reviewed, the blade was probably off by at least one kerf width with respect to the base. Sure, carpenters like to dull their blades with all the extra cutting and create twice as much dust when using a fence. The unit might be able to run well with only a 10 or 11 amp motor instead of 12A power if ‘they’ could figure out how to make the base parallel to the blade. In this situation, I found it necessary to partially dis-assemble the ‘new’ saw to ‘improve’ the alignment — but what a pain. Guess that’s just what you need to expect from Ridgid. Otherwise, it’s a nice, smaller, hearty saw, with more power than probably needed, or just right to power thru the mis-alignment. _______________________I may update actual performance once it is in service, so category ratings below are based on expected performance in examining the unit. One area examined was the static ‘play’ of a blade. In this model, there is no real axial play, which seems good, but there is a slight wobble to the blade, that appears to be by design of the blade mount. It seems that this would probably help protect the bearings from stress. Not yet sure what affect this will have on cut quality.

Needs a blade break. Overall, one of the best saws I’ve ever used, for a 6 1/2″.

Great little trim saw, light and sturdy. Light weight makes it easy to use all day long. Sturdy tool that holds up to under heavy work loads. Use it to cut trim eliminating the big bulky miter saw.

Simply incredible saw. Was always afraid to use a skill saw but the Tool Guy at Home Depot recommended the Rigid 6 1/2 incher. Incredible and valuable advise. Getting pretty dern good at using it too! Is relatively light, plenty powerful and very manageable. Thank-you Tool Guy!

Not so heavy and very compact. Love the feel and positioning of the switch.

I use this saw on job sites daily for primarily trim work but some framing as well. Although I have several other saws including 7 1/4 saws, this one never lets me down and is the one I almost always pick up. The only exception is cutting Hardie siding which I use an OLD unstoppable Makita with a Hardie blade on it. This Rigid 6 1/2 saw does fine, accurate cuts with the right blade (I use a 40 tpi. blade) and recommended it highly.

Easy to handle, the only thing not included is the Allen wrench to install blade.

Good piece of equipment.

Everything about this little saw seems to be built robust enough for all day every day use. Good sturdy adjustment levers and the magnesium base is great with kerf indicators both front and rear. I love the fact that this little saw can make it all the way through a 2X4 with one pass and does it with gusto.. I have a little Skil brand 6.5 inch circular saw that I inherited from my Dad who was a carpenter by trade and am sad to say that this new Ridgid puts it to shame. It makes me wish my Dad could have used this little saw. He would have been blown away P.S. I had zero problems regitering the saw for life time warranty coverage. Time will tell if they honor the warranty IF I ever need it.

The 6 1/2 circular saw is mighty handy for any homeowner. Powerful to cut 1 1/2 inch stock. It’s light so very easy to pickup and maneuver. Excellent saw for trim stock and plywood/MDF material. It’s the alternative to a battery powered hand saw which is what I favor. Try it, you’ll like it.
