It has done great so far. Plenty of power.The motor housing hangs over the edge of the flat bottom so that it impedes the use of a straight edge guide (taller than a 1/4″ thick) if you are cutting thick material.

My local HD had these on clearance sale for $85. I already own an older Skilsaw and so did not need another worm drive but for $85 how could I not buy another! Overall, this is a good saw but maybe just a notch down from my Skilsaw. It feels just slightly heavier (i have the aluminium not the magnesium skilsw) and I think the Ridgid might have just slightly less power but it is very close. I bought a new Diablo framing blade with the saw and did a quick cross-cut of some 2×4’s with each saw, using the same blade. Neither had any issues but the Skil seemed to go just a hair faster. On the plus side, the bevel markings on the Ridgid are vastly better and have great positive stops. The rafter hook on the Ridgid feels sturdy and the top handle feels better in my hands (it’s larger than the one on my Skilsaw). Plus the Ridgid has the LSA which is unbeatable. I have other Ridgid tools that have been flawless after years of very hard use. Overall, a ridiculously good value!
