The saw is comfortable and cuts well. The fence slot is either too wide (for the fence sold by ridgid) so that it is not plumb, or too narrow to fit the skil or aftermarket fence. Three stars for stupid engineers who probably have never cut a board in their life.

I went to HD for a DeWalt, and an employee offered me $30 off this model because they were out of DeWalts. I’m pretty happy with it. I haven’t cut off a finger or anything yet! I used it to cut through 2×10 rim joists for a deck. The 7-1/4″ blade is long enough to cut through the boards at a 45 degree angle (my 6-1/2″ saw couldn’t). This saw cut very well once I learned to run it against a guide so I wasn’t cutting in a curved motion. When you put on the (included) blade the manual will instruct you to put a drop of oil on the metal pieces that’ll be in contact with the blade, but the manual won’t say what kind of oil to use. That’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
