The RIDGID 14 in. Abrasive Cut-Off Machine features a 6 ft. cord for an extended reach on the job site. The 15 Amp, high-torque motor is designed for cutting through rebar, bar stock, angle iron and complete bundles of metal studs. It features on-board wrench storage and an ergonomic D-shaped handle for easy transport.

It has worked well. I fried a cheap one (HF) after about 15 cuts, so I decided to buy Ridgid because of the lifetime service agreement. I have used it for close to 75 cuts without a problem including some 2-1/2 x 3/16 square tubing. Even the blade is lasting longer.

Its hard to rate an review a product that I just got. But I can tell you why I got this one. First reason less money. Then wider base. I don’t need rapid change blade. If i used it more than maybe. But other than that they are pretty much all the same. I don’t have a brand that I am loyal to so I get what seems to be the best value for my needs.

Cut a good deal of metal with this already 1/4″x 3″ flat,3/16″x 3″ angle, and even some old mower blades.Started off with the cutoff (abrasive) blade and later switched to a metal blade. The fence and hold down clamp work well and I like it better than the Dewalt 14″ saw I previously owned.

Seems to be somewhat under powered. Having to go very slow cutting aluminum 2″ square screen posts. Other than that, it’s OK. My Rigid 7.25″ 18 V miter saw cuts these quicker and better. Go figure!

The tool is pretty much as described. It cuts steel pipe/rod/tubing. It does it with a minimum of fuss. Not a fancy tool, but performs well. My only downside to the tool (which isn’t a huge deal if you have a square) is that the 0-degree setting is not a detent, but just a visual indicator. But the cuts are clean and quick. You absolutely need eye and ear protection with this. Don’t even think of using this without wraparound eye protection, as a steel filing in your eye means you can never have an MRI for the rest of your life (I’m a doc) and can stain your sclera or cornea with a rust stain. Obviously if you know you need one of these tools, you know that it generates lots of hot sparks. Make sure you do this in a location where spraying large numbers of sparks is safe.
