RIDGID introduces the 13 in. Thickness Corded Planer. This planer has a 120-Volt, 15 Amp motor that delivers 9000 RPM for maximum power and continuous operation. It features a 3-blade cutter head with quick-changing, dual-edge blades that are reversible and self-aligning for a smooth surface with minimal blemishes. The multiple depth features help you achieve your desired depth and the 13 in. wide feed capacity is great for planning large stock. Backed by the Industry Leading Lifetime Service Agreement, the 13 in. Corded Thickness Planer includes a magnetic blade wrench, a depth adjustment handle, a switch key, a dust port, and an operator’s manual.

I bought this planer 3 weeks ago after my 19 year old Ridgid planer is having issues. For the great sale price I figured purchasing new was nearly as cheap or cheaper than repair cost. If you’ve heard the expression; “things aren’t made like they use to be”, then this certainly applies here. The anti snipe lockdown selling feature certainly won’t eliminate snipe, there’s no wrap location for the power cord and the planer operates like a much cheaper model. I own several Ridgid tools unfortunately this is my first regret. Really glad I didn’t buy at full price.

I had one of these before and sold it , so it’s a regret buy , they found a way to make more money , they basically left the machine alone , but did not include extra blades or the stand .I like the life time warranty , the amount I use it , it will never wear out ..I used it once the last two months , works as it should .. I did not give it 5 stars because of them taking away the accessories, that made buying this a great buy.. now it’s just a good buy if you can get it on sale.

My son is using this machine to eat through old, used cedar pickets from a fence his brother is replacing. This planer has no problem finding the beautiful wood hidden inside these weathered boards. It leaves a beautiful finish with little to no sanding. Building a beautiful potting table suitable for the garden or patio completely out of recycled wood. This machine literally ran for hours, straight out of the box. Just quick measurements on the first few passes assured us the factory setting were true.

Works great, this is perfect for smoothing surfaces but notice I can’t avoid snipe unless I feed another piece of wood before my project piece goes in. A must need for glue ups.

Much better than the Craftsman two blade planer that it replaced. Noisy but that’s to be expected. The planing is smooth and accurate. Not much snipe at all. Planed rock maple for a few hours with no struggle. Considering the price, can’t think of a reason not to get one.
