RIDGID introduces the 13 in. Thickness Corded Planer. This planer has a 120-Volt, 15 Amp motor that delivers 9000 RPM for maximum power and continuous operation. It features a 3-blade cutter head with quick-changing, dual-edge blades that are reversible and self-aligning for a smooth surface with minimal blemishes. The multiple depth features help you achieve your desired depth and the 13 in. wide feed capacity is great for planning large stock. Backed by the Industry Leading Lifetime Service Agreement, the 13 in. Corded Thickness Planer includes a magnetic blade wrench, a depth adjustment handle, a switch key, a dust port, and an operator’s manual.

Overall, I’m very happy. If you don’t get your work lined up perfectly on the infeed side, you will get a bit of snipe. The snipe is minor enough that you can easily sand it out of your finished product. No snipe ever on the outfeed side, which is great. I’m getting a slight longitudinal scratch, apparently from one of the knives having a chip. I’ll check that out, but knives are easy to deal with. Other than that, it does what it is supposed to do. It leaves a very nice, smooth finish which really minimizes the amount of cleanup sanding that you need to do. Great planer. I would buy it again.

So far I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I have only used it for approximately an hour but it works very well. I was debating between the Dewalt and the Ridgid. Half the price of the Dewalt. I don’t know what could be better.

This is a very messy tool!..Tried to attach a shop vac hose to the chip exhaust but only resulted in plugging up both the planer and the vac hose. Otherwise this is great planer for the price.

A planer has been on my “nice to have” list to list for years.Is this the best DIY planer out there? Not likely but it is probably the best value unit, especially on sale and with a lifetime warranty. Does everything you would want! And if you’re at all timid or apprehensive, YouTube offers lots of help to get you started. I’ve found snipe is directly proportionate to levelling tables and supporting wood as it exits. Been extremely pleased so far, no regrets!
