Good value for the price and it works for the intended purpose of driving a mechanical auto lift. Plenty of power and I am sure it will come in handy for other tasks around the garage.

This is a heavy duty hammer drill that gives the performance one would expect from a Rigid product. The minute you lift the drill out of the case you know it means business. There are no plastic gears in this drill which can’t be said for many of the drills in the same price range. I used it to quickly drill several holes in my concrete basement floor and poured concrete walls. I expect to get many years of use from this drill. And the lifetime guarantee gives me peace of mind if repairs are needed in the future (although none of my Rigid tools have needed repair–they are quality products). My only gripe is that the drill chuck requires a key to change bits. Perhaps Rigid thinks (or knows) a key-less chuck won’t hold the drill bits securely for drilling in concrete but using the key is a hassle.

Very nice heavy duty drill…we had a big concrete job and used it for drilling and digging the dirt to loosen for removal for post piers for our new patio roof project

Just what I was looking for. Great for smaller jobs that I don’t need my bigger Hammer drill.

Relatively recent purchase for me, but have already used this a few times for drilling in concrete in our basement and it has worked great. More than enough power for the job, solid construction, good warranty.

This is a great product. This is a replacement for one I had for 12 years. Only problem was I didn’t do the lifetime warranty on the old one!! Make sure you do the warranty!

Drill held up very well. Drilled 1/2″ diameter holes to anchor hopper bins for 3.5 hours straight. Highly recommend this drill.

Included with the drill is a nylon carrying case, depth gauge and handle, chuck attached to the power cord and the instructions.I have had mixed results with this drill. The first drill I purchased made it through about 10 drill holes through oak wood before it started smoking and stopped working soon after. I returned that drill and got the one I have now as a replacement. So far, I have not had any issues with this particular drill, even after drilling a number of holes through the same oak wood that the first drill died out on. Ironically, I have a Ridgid cordless drill that is similar to this one that I have had for years and never had an issue with, so I am assuming that I just ended up with a rare defective one. I needed something that would handle a larger drilling job than my cordless Ridgid and batteries couldn’t handle very well. I needed an electric drill that could handle a long one-inch auger bit and this drill was one of the few drills that I could find that had an opening that could do that. Even some larger sized hammer drills couldn’t do that. Cost-wise, the drill falls in the middle electric drill brands, there are some that are cheaper and some that cost more. One of the reasons, I went with this brand is the fact that Ridgid will warranty their products for life as long as you register the tool on their website within a certain time after purchase. That to me speaks of the willingness of the manufacturer to back the quality of the tool if they are willing to repair or replace a tool no matter how long you have it. Although I had an issue with the first drill, the replacement has worked with no issues. It has good power and was able to drill deep into the wood with the long auger bit that I was using. I drilled at least 30 or more holes and though the drill motor was hot, it didn’t overheat or burn out. It is comfortable to hold and use and has very little vibration. It is powerful enough to jerk out of your hands though, especially with deep drilling. One thing I noticed with mine is that the torque switch is a bit difficult to change, something I have heard that is common with Ridgid drills. Another slight issue that I have with the drill is the handle tends to come loose when drilling. I wish it had some locking mechanism for the handle so that doesn’t occur in the middle of using it. Instead the handle locks in place by twisting it tight, which during use can loosen up. Overall, the drill feels solid and powerful and does the job for what I need. I won’t give it a higher rating because of the issue with the first drill I had which gives me some concern about overall durability of the motor, but this does come with a great warranty as long as you register it.Pros:PowerfulGood torqueSturdyComes with a caseLifetime service warranty Low vibrationComfortable to hold and useHolds 1-inch bitsCons:Possible quality control issues (1st drill burned out after 10 holes)Torque switch is finicky and hard to change Must register for full warrantyPriced a bit higher than some brandsNo locking mechanism to keep the handle from loosening during use3 stars
