I used the depth gauge that came in the box, used for other than sheet rock. I had a major problem with that particular gauge. The screw would “ALWAYS” get jammed on the actual gauge. That day the temperature was 107, in Mobile, Alabama, as well as the sun scorching me as I’m trying to use this Collated Screwdriver. My frustration set in pretty and I was ready to return the unit. As per the manual I used the supposedly correct guide. I changed to the sheetrock depth gauge and WaLA….. it worked beautifully. My only complaint, the bit wears down rather quickly, understandable, I purchased a new bit but it was too short. I discovered I have to “ORDER” a bit to fit. Exhausting..

I absolutely love this product. I built a 6×18 foot deck and this screwgun saved me so much time. Let it be known there is a slight learning curve, my advice is to have the trigger pressed before you push the nose piece down as it performs the best when the motor is running constantly. Overall great value to speed up deck and drywall projects.

I have a love/hate relationship with this tool. I bought it for a project in my son’s basement, wanting to speed up the drywall process. Read the reviews and found them to be accurate. It’s a must to keep the gun perpendicular to the drywall. Getting into corners is not possible most times so I still had to use individual screws in all the corners. Sometimes it doesn’t move the screws forward smoothly. In fact, in one strip 10 screws were left. That only happened once but it frequently missed a screw or two per strip. That said I would buy it again. It did speed up hanging and fastening the drywall once I got a rhythm going. I did have to go back and deal with screws that weren’t driven in deeply enough but there weren’t many—excepting the corners and any tight spots. It’s worth the price for a DIYer like me.

If you do a lot of drywall then this will pay for itself the first time you use it.

This is an updated model that can handle deck screws.

Bought it to start getting used to before my addition this summer. So far it performs well, and feeds the screws smoothly. It’s light weight and powerful.

First time user and after familiarizing myself with the tool and reading the easy to follow directions it performed GREAT! Use the trigger lock to set the power to continuing run and push down. It counter sinks perfectly once set properly.

This corded collated screwgun is one fine piece of equipment! The manual is fairly easy to understand and follow. The manual fails to show the difference between the drywall and wood nose pieces, but this is clarified in the single page instruction sheet that comes in the package.Either I got very lucky, or this is the first electrical tool I have ever purchased, that does not require setup (other than bit and screw loading). I used a scrap piece of drywall and a scrap piece of wood to screw it to, and the vast majority of the screws went it to the depth they needed to. It’ll take a little more practice to gain proficiency, and I have yet to try the reverse setting. I may have to refer to the manual on that one! 🙂 I will say that right out of the box, it works very well.Overall, I am very favorably impressed with this tool, and I expect to get a lot of use out of it this coming Spring, for fence rebuilding and replacement.

Good tool once you break it in a bit, some of the screws will not load properly or the bit will miss but once you get going it’s quick.

I purchased this screw gun because I was starting a pretty good sized drywall project, it will also do longer deck screws for future deck projects, and the price was pretty good. When I first started using the screw gun it definitely helped with speeding through the drywall installation but not without some issues. It is nice not having to place one screw at a time into the end of the screw gun. I struggled a little with the screw gun not engaging the next screw, or getting the next screw jammed against the guide. I figured it was something I was doing and just had to get used to it. After one bucket of screws and about 25+ sheets of drywall, I figured I should have all the issues worked out with the use of the gun. It was better, but still it was jamming at crucial points and absolutely unable to drive a screw at a slight angle. Additionally, I found that the air (which comes out of the back and top) blows right in your face/eyes often. I needed a new bucket of screws and figured I would return the Rigid and go with something a little better. I purchased the Senco DS332-AC and it is night and day over the Rigid R6791. I could use every screw in the strip. The screws feed easily and even at slight angles. The screw gun was not as loud as the Rigid and it didn’t blow air in my face. I bought the Rigid for the price and returned it and bought the Senco for the quality.

Great product as powerful drywall gun. Added bonus of the ability to drive deck screws! Worth the buy to have in your arsnel if you are looking to drive a bunch of screws. The warranty and added tips are a great bonus with the bag

Good product but occasionally, the screws would get hung up on the plunger when driving the screws.

I bought this to replace the older cordless model. Works much better, but can have issues if you try it using only one hand. It also has issues along a wall if the gun is not perfectly vertical.I’m not a fan of cords, but the reliability and power exceeded the battery version.

I saw some pretty bad reviews, and a few pretty good ones, so I thought I would take a chance. I have a finishing nail gun, but nothing so heavy duty as this. I read reviews where people complained that the bits wore down fast, the heads of the screws were twisting off, the screws were stripping out the wood, and or the screw driver was jamming a lot. So before trying it out, I read the instruction carefully and watched a couple videos before taking it for a spin. Using 2 1/2″ collated deck screws (type “CS”), I first checked to make sure the screw heads were not sticking out too far per the instructions, made sure the screw gun was set for 2 1/2 inch screws, and started the screw driver before doing the first screw. The first screw stuck out of the wood by a little more than 1/8 inch, so I adjusted the setting for countersink. After that I did several more screws without a single problem. It countersunk the screw 1/8 inch, which was perfect. I left the screw driver running the whole time and it was very fast and for the most part, flawless. I did several tests, so I can honestly say for me it was a great purchase.
