Works great on sheet metal, easier than I thought it would be. I would highly recommend it, and can’t wait to find other uses for it.

Cuts clean with no burs However on tin roofing it has difficulty changing angles. Best on flat tin.

I saw this online with some good reviews so I started to try and find it. No one had it including Home Depot. I was disappointed because I felt it would be a great addition to my JobMax accessories. Suddenly, an ad popped up showing it at Home Depot. I ordered it immediately. I have only used it a couple times on 20 AWG sheet metal. I expected it to have a tough time since the advertised MAX. is 18 AWG. I started it and immediately had a problem (sarcasm). It cut so quickly and smoothly that I lost track of the cut line and drifted off in surprise. One puzzle is the fact that the spec says the maximum cut thickness is 18 gauge mild steel, but the manual tells how to set it up for 1/16 (16 gauge.) thick material. It may not mean mild steel. but something like copper, leather or matting/poster board. If you do metal work, get this tool.

Works better than I expected. I want to try it on the thicker metal listed on its capacity and you need to adjust the blades and opening, the directions for this suck and are unclear. Is a simple diagram too hard to include?

I haven’t used it too much yet. However it seems to be built really well. I have used it to make several cross cuts on 26 ga steel building siding. This is a difficult cut and the shear handled it fine. I’m using it on a ryobi 1 tool. I’m very happy with it.

It did an OK job. But I was a little disappointed when the blade came off because the screw that was holding it came loose.

For the JobMax line this head fits all JobMax bodies. It worked very good on angle iron I thought might be too thick, and it easily cut 18ga strong plastic sieve material used for covering gutter downspouts. For both uses in a word impressive. Left handed folks you may well have issues with this head. Example, look at the image in the advertisement, the cutters are on the left, down and under, thus using the JobMax Shear Head with left hand it is difficult seeing your cutline. To see your cutline you will be looking over across your left arm or lean out over the front of the head; both are quite awkward. Good news, for right handed folks you can clearly see your cutline, for you this is a outstanding device. Being as I am left handed, sadly I had to return it. All their other JobMax heads I do own, using them on both the 12V and 18V JobMax bodies; prefer the 12V.
