Great design and it’s exactly what I wanted however if you want clear loud sound that travels I’d look elsewhere, I returned it and got a jbl charge 4. Way better sound quality

The built in charger is much slower than the separate fast charger stations. It appears to be a 60 watt charger versus a fast charger that is typically 130 watts. The unit sometimes turns off if you are still charging a battery, and then you remove the battery to use in another power tool. The switchover circuitry that decides where to get power (battery or plug) isn’t fast enough to keep the radio going. This can make it a chore, if you’re using blue tooth and have to reconnect. I have not had any issues with the app (Android version), nor connecting with standard bluetooth devices. Ridgid does not list the version of Blue tooth, but I’m quite certain it is probably 4.2, as the range I’ve got is around 100 feet if the radio is directly in-sight. In most cases, with interior walls you will get around 20-30 feet. Sound is adequate, considering you just have two small drivers. It would’ve been nice if Ridgid added a third speaker, or passive radiator in the middle of the unit.

Good radio, nice features only complaint is when you switch from plug-in AC mode to battery mode, radio turns off. I own the first-gen large radio which didn’t do this and was nice when moving the radio on a job site, yes I know it doesn’t charge but would still like that feature in this radio.

A great addition to the shop and very useful around the yard for bonfires or chilling on the deck. Not that this system uses a lot of battery power, but it’s very nice to be able to just plug the stereo in when you are near an outlet to top up battery power.

Decent radio. Easy to handle and durable so far. The antennae for the radio doesn’t get the best reception and it could definitely be louder. Bluetooth range isn’t anywhere near 50’ let alone 100’. Using it at home right now and if I go onto my porch 20’ away w the door open the Bluetooth starts getting sketchy. I’ll stick with it as it’s very portable and good enough for what I need now.

The radio has good sound quality and was easily to be hooked up to the blue tooth.

Pros : – charge batteries – Ridgid app – solid constructionCons : – sound not rich like a Millwaukee radio – fm reception a little weak – Bluetooth has to be reboot when you switch from batteries to A/c and vice versa – I modified the handle to carry my phone
Nicolette McGlynn (verified owner) –
I love it, charges batteries, runs off batteries, take it anywhere, sounds great.

Solid radio. I like that it can charge batteries as well as draw power from them. Charge speed is slow, and I wish it was louder.
