Nice and easy to use. Wrench on board is nice feature to not loose it.

First, with their ‘guaranteed for life’ program [but be careful, it’s getting tougher to register a product], Ridgid has to be considered a viable competitor to “Big Red” [whose ‘mail-in-service’, I think, is now ‘best-in-class’].My history with many of their tools … at least 18 over the past seven years … has been good.Okay, this product. What I like is the interchangeable collets [1/8 and 1/4″] … with its high rpm, you might consider alternative uses vis-a-vis Dremel and flush-trim router bits! And there’s no ‘right side up’ with those collets. The wrench and foot are one in the same. Good job.The pencil point light is adequate. What I don’t like … it’s heavy and, with an arthritic medium-large hand, I find it hard to grasp and hold at 8.5″ circumference,;a 1/4″ would have made a big difference.

works great. needs improvement on the depth adjustment. however better than manual cutting.

This Ridgid drywall cutout tool seems to be a solid worker. First, the good: It is relatively lightweight and easy to maneuver. The depth of cut adjustment is a tool-free design with a simple flip lever to change the shoe position and the shoe – when removed from the tool – has a built-in wrench for bit changes (a very nice feature). The switch is recessed in the tool to prevent accidental activation and still manages to be easily accessible from multiple hand positions on the tool. The belt clip is sturdy and highly functional. The not-so-good: The user manual doesn’t have even a listing of included accessories or tool diagram, so it took me a minute to figure out that the depth shoe also functioned as a wrench. Although it is in-line with the industry standard, there is no dust extraction/containment on this tool. Overall: A capable tool that will get the job done without any bells or whistles.

It’s good. I have a wired router but it’s not as good as this one.

Great battery with excellent run time. I have a total of three, which ensures that I always have a charged battery while on the job site, as long as I remember to put it on the charger when it dies…

This is a very nice quality jacket even if it didn’t have the heat option. The fit is actually closer to American sizing which helps a lot to know since it seems a lot of stores don’t actually stock one to try on in store. I found it nice and warm, even to having to turn it down to low heat. The heat zones are a bit small but with it zipped up the heat spreads around pretty good. I recommend a thick shirt underneath so the heat zones have a chance to spread out inside. The pocket for the battery fits a 2.0 battery perfectly but will fit a 5.0… I didn’t see it being necessary to go bigger because the 2.0 lasted longer than I actually needed. I didn’t run a usb charging cord yet to charge my phone, but it has a nice internal zone to run one and keep it from tangling up with anything else, so very nice.

I had to cut out some outlets in drywall and this worked well. The no tools needed is nice to change the bit out. The depth ring is toothed to lock in at small depths, and is easyTo adjust with just a flip of a leaver adjust and lock in place. The on/ off switch is in a convenient location. The tool is well balanced and not to heavy if you use a smaller battery.

Like most people I really like the Rigid impact and drill. The original batteries have a lot to be desired. I was skeptical about the new battery design, so far no issues. It has been working great.

Haven’t really used it yet but easy to assemble

Very lite and durable feels perfect in the hand.

Works great for small jobs but not quite sure of the durability needed for everyday use

Good tool for cutting drywall repair holes or new mod projects. would have been nice to have a variable speed wheel to tune down from the 28k rpm for lighter applications and use like a ‘dremel’ also with it already having 2 different size collets for bit placement. also would have been nice to have a small storage spot for the collets when not in the tool chuck to prevent loss; just an idea. overall, nice tool.

Works exactly as it should. Seems to make less mess than the jab saw and the cuts are nicer

Nice tool, cut drywall easy. Have used with sanding disk and works well

Lifetime service is great if you jump through the hoops. I purchased my Ridgid drill 11-9-03. Back then you didn’t have to register it as long as you had the receipt. Over the years, have had it worked on twice and the batteries replaced 3 times. Just took it in for batteries and was told they would no longer honor the warranty because part of the serial number had worn off the drill. That was my fault for not writing it down anywhere before. Everyone please learn from this. Write your serial number down in a separate place. Also, they told me that when I receive the new batteries back for my other tools, I need to contact Ridgid and get them to update the new serial numbers on the new batteries or the Lifetime contract on the batteries wouldn’t be any good. All of my tools are Ridgid and am pleased so far with the lifetime service. Have got my money’s worth so am happy.

It does not the ability to make a detailed cut as I had hoped. For rough and quick cut, it is perfect. Still no regrets in the purchase.

This new battery is much improved over origional battery. Replaced with this battery even though I had a life time replacement on the origional. It was worth the money.
Meda King (verified owner) –
No warranty on battery only! MY BAD I made the mistake of thinking that because they were offering a lifetime warranty on the tool and the battery, that batteries only would have the same warranty. I just wasted my money on a spare battery that I didn’t need. they will warranty the battery that came with the tool unlimited times. SO YOU LEARN

I go pretty hardcore with my Ridgid tools. I’m pretty much all work and all play with them. The light feature is great cuz with the push of a button I can tell when it’s time to change batteries instead of waiting for it to die while I’m hard at work. Definitely a great addition to your tool box and to your Ridgid tools.
