It is better than the old one and gives you ability to set the speed 1,2,3 !!!I would highly recommend this impact !!It’s comparable to the Milwaukee Impressive

I had previously bought the latest version with more features but didn’t like that it would auto torque stop. I returned it and got the simpler version. This is what I was looking for!

Made a great present

I liked the ability to control the driver for different size screws so as not to strip out a screw.

It works.

I also have a Makita and a Dewalt impact driver in addition to the Ridgid. The Dewalt will turn screws that the Ridgid does not have the power to turn, but I prefer the overall function and feel of the Ridgid. This is my second one, my first one lasted about 5 years of heavy daily use. The Makita is good too, maybe a touch lighter. You would not be disappointed with any of them.

I’ve had the tool for a couple of weeks now and have used it during a remodel of my master bathroom. It has been used for numerous tasks including framing screws in wall construction and pocket hole work building the vanity face-frame. I’ve found it to be simple, lightweight, and easy to change bits. I like the fact that the battery is interchangeable with my Rigid drill. However, I’ve found this tool lacks power on low speed setting. Both medium and high speed settings have enough power for running screws into hardwoods but turn too fast to allow delicate or precise work. I found it especially frustrating when driving pocket hole screws. For my purposes it would be a better tool if it had two speed settings (like the variable speed Rigid drill) and the ability to regulate chuck speed with the trigger.

I like the power.

This 1/4″ impact works great. Very big power in a small package. All the Ridgid tools work great and I’ve always been satisfied with their performance and quality.

I love Ridgid and I own only Ridgid power tools. I bought my Ridgid impact new and have put it through its paces over the past two years. For most applications, it performs well. But my major grievance with this tool is when it comes to lug nuts. I have attempted on many occasions to try to ya this impact to loosen lugs in various vehicles and to date, I ha e yet to break a single one! Not sure why I keep trying but the tool just can’t ha sleep that job. Ridgid states it has a industry leading 2,200 pounds of torque but mine delivers nothing close to that. I will continue to buy Ridgid but it is disconcerting that of all the “best of” lists on the net, none of them review Ridgid.

Good drill don’t get me wrong, but the holster to click a bit in is broken half the time and won’t hold correctly

I’ve used almost every brand of impact driver and this is better or equal to a lot of them and even if one has a slight advantage, they don’t have that warranty like this.

Great product! Have used mine since they first came out. Bought this last one for my son.
