I bought this tool as part of a kit that included a cordless drill. It was my first impact driver, but now I can’t imagine life without it. This is a must-have tool for all DIY warriors!After 6-8 months of fairly hard use (including dropping it from a 10-foot height onto a concrete floor), the impact driver began making a distinct “clicking” noise and had a noticeable loss of power. I contacted Ridgid support and found out the tool is covered under warranty for three years, even without registering it. They told me to bring it up to Home Depot and drop it off at the tool rental counter, where I paid a $20 shipping deposit.Today the tool came back and appears to be fixed in brand-new condition! Even better, my $20 deposit was refunded. Speaking with the guy at the rental counter he told me he owns the exact same kit, and only buys Ridgid power tools for that reason.I am a believer! I will only buy Ridgid tools from now on, and furthermore I will register everything I buy.

I thought about going for an impact driver for quite a while and read a lot of reviews. Already had the 18v Ridged Gen-5X drill/driver with batteries and charger and nabbed this impact on sale. I used it right away to fasten loose shake metal shingles and several other projects. Worked magically. Way more power thank I’ll ever need. Mostly used lowest and medium speed settings to not overdo it. Definitely recommend and thank Home Depot for providing these excellent products. I did apply to register for lifetime warranty over a month ago with no response yet which is unusual. Better check on that…

I’m a apprentice carpenter and hands down from all the other impacts I’ve handled on the job site this is the best one. No I have the older model of this that is brushed but it it a tank. Was getting out of the scissor lift one day at work to get onto a roof and had it on the hung on my tool belt and as I was switching from the lift to the roof it fell of my belt and fell 16′ to the ice covered ground and first thing I though was “well that’s broke” went down put the battery back in the fell out when it hit the ground pulled the trigger and worked like nothing happened. But yes this impact feels nice in the hands can hold onto it all day and not get sore and drives fast and last 2-3 days on a 6AH battery depending on usage. But yes this impact is a must for your Ridgid line up I wouldn’t be able to do my job without it. And I would recommend this product to other carpenter appreciate friends of mine.

I moved up from porter cable brushless impact. This drill has much more power. I didn’t even notice if I was hitting studs with 3.5” screws. I buried the first screw half way through the 1×6. I love the line. I’m buying the rest of the octane line as soon as they get them in stock. I’m only missing a couple pieces. Ridgid please come out with a box 18v wet dry vac. That will hold the hose and is more durable. I’ll wait on that.
