Impact Driver features high performance brushless motors and advanced electronics that provide Best-in-Class power and intelligence. While providing increased performance with all RIDGID 18-Volt Batteries, OCTANE Tools provide maximum performance in high demand applications when paired with OCTANE Batteries. Paired with an OCTANE Battery, this Impact Driver gives an Industry Leading 2,400 in./lbs. of torque. The battery in this kit gets up to 4X the runtime of standard lithium-ion batteries and is built for high performance and protected from overheating, overloading, and overcharging through the Triple Protection Electronics design. The chemistry allows for maximum performance in temperatures as low as -4 degrees and up to 120 degrees F, so you can confidently use them year-round. The 18-Volt Charger features Rapid Charge Time, Smart Charging, Cold/Hot Warning, and Energy Save Mode. With registration, this kit is backed by the Industry’s Only Lifetime Service Agreement. Loved this out of the box, super powerful, like the light feature and relatively compact. HOWEVER, I had to return the first unit. After about an hour of use, would not work again the next day. The light would come on, but when pulling the trigger, nothing. Switched batteries (both charged) same result. Disappointing. I exchanged for another unit at the store, so far so good, though time will tell.

Took a little getting use to since I only used the RIDGID screw/hammer drill before. I must say I was kicking myself for not buying this when I replace my fence. Drives smoothly and the staggered reverse is a nice feature. I purchased because I already had RIDGID 18V batteries and I’m not disappointed. I wouldn’t switch over from any other major brand if I had to buy the batteries.

I received the Rigid 5 piece combo tool kit for Christmas. My wife and I are refurbishing our house for the market and remodeling our building in a small town on Main St. Someone had broken into our building and took our hammer drill, charger, two octane batteries and my old screw gun.I’ve since replaced all the locks and new key entries. It’s so frustrating loosing something you value and use daily. These weren’t misplaced. I know where I put them. It’s a great tool. Love the interchangeable bits, power and light that this little monster provides. I am lost without it. I will buy another one and take the proper precautions and even engrave my name on it.I like it these tools so much I won’t go back to any other brand. Sorry I don’t have a photo. It would just be an empty spot where I stored it.

I bought this tool as part of a kit that included a cordless drill. It was my first impact driver, but now I can’t imagine life without it. This is a must-have tool for all DIY warriors!After 6-8 months of fairly hard use (including dropping it from a 10-foot height onto a concrete floor), the impact driver began making a distinct “clicking” noise and had a noticeable loss of power. I contacted Ridgid support and found out the tool is covered under warranty for three years, even without registering it. They told me to bring it up to Home Depot and drop it off at the tool rental counter, where I paid a $20 shipping deposit.Today the tool came back and appears to be fixed in brand-new condition! Even better, my $20 deposit was refunded. Speaking with the guy at the rental counter he told me he owns the exact same kit, and only buys Ridgid power tools for that reason.I am a believer! I will only buy Ridgid tools from now on, and furthermore I will register everything I buy.
