I have owned many Ridgid tools and none have given me any troubles. This router is no exception. I use it on a daily basis to chamfer edges on a variety of hardwoods such as Oak, Maple, Cherry, and Walnut. I have also used this router to freehand carve lettering and create inlays with no issue. It has more than enough power to do everything I ask of it and i’m sure it could do more. It cuts smooth and quickly with just a 3ah Octane battery. As trim routers go this Ridgid can hold its own and you cant beat the price or the warranty.

Really good tool, cuts slow, not too fast but very precise. A good purchase for sure.

The router was easy to assemble and understand how to use. It is easy to adjust with different bits. Works very well. Has a lot of power. Meet all my expectations.. Thanks

Well, I will say that I loved using this router. I used it right out of the box with the battery that I used to power a rigid drill that I bought years ago. Unfortunately, the router drained two batteries in about 15-20 minutes of intermittent use. I’m hoping this will be better if I buy an octane battery. I will update the star rating once I try this tool with a stronger battery.

It worked well for my first project enough power and no cord, perfect. The only thing I don’t like is the on off switch is oddly placed not a trigger just a slider in and out. You need to move a hand off the material or the machine to work the switch. You have to turn it on the place it on the material while it is running in tight spots that can be tricky.

My husband used it for a hole on a wooden cutting board that he made. He said it was real easy and the hole in the cutting board handle was very smooth. He really liked the router. It was above and beyond!

I love everything about this router except that the bits get stuck about half the time. I have 4 other routers, and none of them have the bit-sticking problem I sometimes (about half the time) encounter with this one. Even with the nut completely removed, the tapered collet ring gets stuck inside the taper, and I need to use pliers or some other tool (depending on bit shape) to pry it out. Even after the bit moves, it doesn’t break free, and it can be a struggle until the bit is completely out of the collet. I’ve tried oiling the collet ring, but that hasn’t helped. Probably just a couple of degree angle change in the collet taper would fix this problem. It is not a major difficulty, but some of the convenience of a cordless tool is lost when I have to go searching through my toolbox to find a tool to extract a bit without damaging it.
