RIDGID introduces the 18-Volt OCTANE Cordless Brushless 3-Speed 1/4 Sheet Sander. The 18-Volt OCTANE Brushless Sheet Sander delivers incredible performance in a cordless package. Pair with an OCTANE battery for up to 14,000 RPM to clear material with speed. Engineered at optimal levels, easily change between high, medium, and slow speed settings with a digital selector. AIRGUARD Technology allows for up to 90% of dust collection as well. An added front grip guard will protect your fingers from sliding down and touching the base of the sanding pad for a more comfortable experience and optimal control. OCTANE tools utilize high performance brushless motors for increased performance. State of the art OCTANE electronics are built to handle maximum power from OCTANE batteries. Upon registration, this OCTANE 1/4 Sheet Sander is backed by the Industry Leading Lifetime Service Agreement. The 18-Volt OCTANE 1/4 Sheet Sander includes a hose adaptor, dust collection bag, an assortment of sandpaper, and an operator’s manual. Battery and charger sold separately.

Sander is excellent! The only thing I would change are the “speed settings”. I always starts on high speed…and the job I was using it on required low speed. So you turn it on and it is automatically on high and you have to turn it down. If it stayed on the speed you last had it on it would be nicer. The battery life is great! Great sander at a great price!

Enjoy using this product. Only negative is can not register tool on LG phone. Ridgid was not helpful and rude in my attempt to register by phone. Poor customer service. Don’t own a computer cannot register for service of Ridgid tools, poor customer service.(During the Corona virus.) When told they could register my tool through the store I ordered my sander. I explained living 100 miles from that store it was not possible to do it over the phone. The customer service supervisor was rude and unhelpful.

I am cautious saying the sander is excellent as I had one die in 2 months. Replaced right away in store so that was excellent service. With computer controlled motor I think it gets congested with sawdust and the computer shuts down. When working it is real good. 45mins on a 4Ahr battery running at max speed. If this one does the same thing as the first I certainly will adjust my score! I have used this sander for 2-3 hrs daily since purchasing the original. Perhaps more than some folks might at the moment.

I’ve had the ridgid cordless orbital sander for some time now, but it’s heavy and hard to control with one hand. The new cordless sheet sander is lighter and easier to control. Excellent tool!

Lots of power, but need a slight better ergonomics ,also starts on full power , Should start on slow .last wire holder should be replaced with front paper holder for sandpaper , more a design tweak

It has the aggressiveness of a random orbit sander, but the finesse of a well balanced palm sander for detail work with no swirl marks. Of all cordless sanders I’ve ever tried, this is my favorite so far. For the price point, useful features and convenience, I highly recommend it!
