RIDGID introduces the 18-Volt OCTANE Cordless Brushless 3-Speed 1/4 Sheet Sander Kit with (1) OCTANE Bluetooth 3.0 Ah Battery and Charger. Pair with an OCTANE battery for up to 14,000 RPM to clear material with speed. Engineered at optimal levels, easily change between high, medium, and slow speed settings with a digital selector. AIRGUARD Technology allows for up to 90% of dust collection as well. An added front grip guard will protect your fingers from sliding down and touching the base of the sanding pad for a more comfortable experience and optimal control. OCTANE tools utilize high performance brushless motors for increased performance. State of the art OCTANE electronics are built to handle maximum power from OCTANE batteries. The battery in this kit offers 2X more runtime when compared to standard 1.5 Ah lithium-ion. With Bluetooth Technology, the jobsite is opened up to many features that will increase productivity throughout the work day. While providing increased performance with all RIDGID 18-Volt tools, OCTANE batteries provide maximum performance when paired with OCTANE tools for high demand applications. The 18-Volt Charger is compatible with all RIDGID Batteries. With registration, this tool is backed by the Industry’s Only Lifetime Service Agreement, and includes a hose adaptor, dust collection bag, an assortment of sandpaper, a 3.0 Ah OCTANE Battery, an 18-Volt Charger, and an operator’s manual.

I’m an admitted Ridgid tool fan.. But I debated on weather this sander was worth the costs since it’s a good bit higher in price over a corded model. Currently on sale for about $70 US. But I had a lot of sheet sanding paper I recently picked up so thought might as well give it a try since the wife wanted me to sand down a item so she can refinish it. Put the 80 grit that it came with on it and a 3 AH octane battery and went to town removing a old finish and stain job. This along with the belt sander make a pretty quick job at removing the old finish. Now just remain with the areas that have to be hand sanded due to curves on the wood. Was impressed with the sander. Dust collection was outstanding as I emptied the bag full of dust in the trash instead of having to blow it all off my me and the project.
