Ok its not perfect but it does work. I liked that it uses standard 3X18 sand paper. It runs a long time on a single charge. Used it on a table and a single charge got it done. It has enough adjustments and is easy to change out the belt.

Ridgid does it again with this belt sander… I can’t say enough good things about it… 3ah batt will give you PLENTY of run time. The ergonomics are great, the power/speed are great, the dust control is great. It is one “bad agent”… BE AWARE… when you are comparing various makes/models be sjure to remember that Ridgid measures the speed of the belt in FPM (Feet Per Minute)… Many others I have looked at seem like they are rated at higher speeds BUT they are rated as SFPM ( SQUARE Feet Per Minute) SPFM includes the width of the belt in its calculation, not just its length. So don’t be thinkin’ this thing is slow… It’s not… It’s right up there with the best of the rest.

Lots of power, good battery life. Its great not having to worry about a power cord getting sucked into the sander which has happened on all my corded belt sanders at one point.

Sander does a good job but battery doesn’t last but 10-12 minutes. Took it back because 30 minutes into it I’m waiting on batteries to charge. Stick with my corded one on this one, otherwise all other 18v Ridgid products have been pretty solid in their performance.
