Works as advertised. I haven’t found anything to complain about this tool yet.

Love this sander!

I’ve used this sander for several years, along with other brands. Both seem to accomplish the task but the Rigid mode feels more balanced, my hand doesn’t fatigue as quickly and the dust collector works better at keeping the surface clear.

Great product!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great sander. It can go through a battery fairly quickly depending on what you are working on but with a second battery ready to go this is not an issue. The only complaint is like other reviewers have said, the grip is a little too wide so your hand gets a bit cramped after a while so switching hands is the trick for jobs that take a while ;-). Love rigid lifetime though and still a great sander for the price.

I love this little guy. It easy to use, easy to clean, parts are easily available and it performs its job perfectly. I have used this guy for over a year now and its one my main ‘go to’ tools for sanding. I found the right sand paper and I go through batteries like crazy with this guy, but that’s because I am sanding a lot. When I sand, I go through the grits, 40, 60, 80, 120, 220 and lately 320 for a better finish. That’s the reason I go through so many batteries, plus the fact that I use the 1.5 Ah and 2.0 Ah 18V batteries. (they’re lighter)I would highly recommend this tool.

Well worth it’s value, no other brand provides the lifetime warranty like Rigid.

The Orbital Sander exceeded my expectations. The dust collection while not perfect, it removed a majority of the saw dust. I’m highly satisfied with the overall performance of Rigid Products and the Orbital Sander falls in line with all of the other products.

I recently purchased a Ridgid 18-Volt Random Orbit Sander along with a 9ah battery. I compared this cordless sander with Ridgid corded (AC) orbital sander using 220 sand paper disc with both tools set at their highest setting (6). What I have found along with other reviews is the cordless tends to “run away” from you while sanding. You have much more control with the corded version of this sander. However the dust capturing is far better with the cordless version. I took a few 1×10 boards and sanded them with the two sanders. The corded version works much faster and removes more material from the board with little downward pressure. The cordless version took more effort to get the same smooth/even results. Bottom line the cordless sander is good and gets a B+ grade. Is it worth the money? Well if you are tired of the hassle of not having a long enough power cord/extension cord, or an a/c outlet is not nearby, then I would say yes, but if time and effort are your priorities when sanding, then the answer is no.

Great sander but not designed for sanding projects going beyond an hour. The batteries are great but can only provide power for so long before needing a charge.

I purchased this with specific needs in mind. I was disappointed in the clumsiness with the revolutions of the discs. It is hard to hold flat on surfaces but works ok with a little tilt forward. I would not recommend this for everyday work but for special needs only.

This tool is great and made my job so easy. It does collect a majority of the dust while working.

Not as much power as I had hoped for.
Hildegard Berge (verified owner) –
Excellent power and easy to control. Makes me happy I went with rigid as my go to

The sander does a really good job, but it goes through batteries 4ah and 2ah extremely quick. Have multiple chargers and batteries available if you are using this tool for an extended amount of time..

Works with my 18v batteries I had for other ridgid tools. Came with 2 sanding pads, hooked battery up and away we went!

Love it

Very well balanced, easy on the wrist, good dust collector

Easy to use but battery intensive. Easy to change discs

Good sander but it drains the batter super fast.
