My primary concern was batter life and I have to admit that this was not a problem at all. Using 2 year old batteries – I was able to sand around an hour per charge. I’m sure there still are many reasons to get a corded sander but I didn’t need any more torque/orbitat movement or length of project time. The dust guard worked as expected. This product excels when sanding vertical surfaces or at angles that put the operator at odd ergonomic angles. It’s why I went cordless. I’ve been using this product for about a month on 1-2 hour projects 3 times a week with batteries that were purchased with my Ridgid drills.

This sander is just what I needed for sanding drywall joints. Works fast and when hooked to a shop vac there’s virtually no dust. The battery life in a 2ah was enough to finish about 8 ft of joints and screw holes. I thought the weight of the tool w a 4ah battery may be excessive but it’s been a one handed job for the most part. The noise is definitely enough to require hearing protection when using with shop vac so be prepared.

Works fine,but the lifetime warranty is what attracted me.It takes awhile to register it for the warranty but don’t give up.Have a complete set of cordless ridgid tools and you will be using that warranty often and jumping through hoops to get Ridgid to honor the warranty.Highly recommend all their cordless tools if you are patient and keep good records of your purchases.

This has been the most used, most trusted, most valued tool in my workshop for the last several years. I never realized how much I count on this tool until it burned out and I had to replace it.
