The device is easy to use overall. The suction is strong and the attachments are useful. Cons: The attachments are slide on and come off easily and sometimes the entire unit comes apart with it.

Pro, works good good on batterys, matches my other Rigid tools,Con, you have to be very careful when you remove tools, it can unlock trash container and drop trash every where. Needs a manual lock on trash container end. But would buy another oneT

The vacuum itself is excellent..just love the vacuum. . the attachments however are only ok…. when using they never seem to stay on correctly, fall off and bend. If you really push hard they are not bad they stay on better. They work but need redesigned…

We’ve always kept a dustbuster in the house for quick pickups. After yet another one bit the dust (pardon the pun) because the batteries no longer held a charge, it occurred to me that I could use a shop tool like this to replace it. I’ve got a plenty of Ridgid batteries, so figured I could sacrifice one for “domestic use”. So under the tree on Christmas morning was a Ridgid Cordless Hand Vac.The tool is solidly constructed, on par with the typical Ridgid tool. It’s not very well balanced, though, and is a bit too “nose heavy”, so using it for dustbuster-like tasks like vacuuming crumbs off the couch feels awkward. It’s possible to one-hand it, but it’s really more of a two-hand tool. Also, the attachments are just OK – not really appropriate for our intended use. Thankfully, it takes standard 1.25″ vacuum accessories, so we stuck a “fabric nozzle” from our old Kenmore floor vacuum on it. Design-wise, this tool seems to be trying to be both a floor vac and a hand vac, and unfortunately it doesn’t do either very well. I sometimes wish I’d bought into the Ryobi tools, because the Ryobi version of this seems like it would be better for our purposes. But the most important concern with a vacuum, of course, is suction. Sadly, this one is not very impressive. It might be a better than a $20 dustbuster, but not remarkably so, and certainly not what you’d expect from a tool that makes as much noise as this one does, with a battery that has enough power to run a circular saw.I also have the Ridgid 3 Gal Cordless Shop Vac, which I love. We did a side-by-side suction test of the two, by trying to pick up different objects off the floor. This wasn’t at all scientific, but the 3-gal vac feels nearly twice as powerful. And you can use it as a blower too. Honestly, if you’re going to get just one cordless vac, spend $20 more and get that one – it’s a much better and more versatile toolIn the end, despite being underwhelmed, we kept this tool… but only because we’re sick of dustbusters with perpetually dying batteries, and the 3-gal unit doesn’t fit where we keep the “inside vac”.

The suction on this tool is very nice for a handheld and can be used inside the house and replace the weaker Dust Buster vacuums. The one complaint I do have is a lot of air blows out of the side and if you aren’t paying attention and twist it the wrong way on accident you can blow your swept up pile all over the place before you get to suck it up.

Vacuum don’t have as much suction as I was hoping. It’s still easier to clean my car with a shop vacuum.

Looses power fast and plugs off pretty easy.
