vacuum is good. a bit heavy. having a real problem getting into the lifetime warranty with this and other tools purchased over the past years. the process is difficult to say the least. all the numbers and info off the receipt were given to get the three warranty but nothing was ever done for the full agreement.

Pro’s:This is quite a compact size somewhat lightweight vacuum and that’s the very best part of it. It uses a Ridgid battery so if you’re in the Ridgid ecosystem you have batteries to refill when the vacuum goes out of juice.Suction:There is decent suction but not the 60CFM suction as the 3 gallon Ridgid cordless vac due to the smaller brushed motor. I’d think it’s 30CFM perhaps. So those expecting the usual powerful suction of other Ridgid shop vacs would be disappointed.Con’s:1. The dust bowl is a bit too small so it fills up quick and also clogs very easily. If Ridgid increases the dust bowl size by 1 inch diameter wider and deeper it’d help quite a bit while still keeping the vac compact. The dust bowl does get unlocked easily. Need a better dust bowl locking mechanism so it dirt doesn’t get dumped out accidentally.2. Cheap filter. Clogs easily. They might have chosen a very simple thin filter to keep minimal reduction of suction power. But this filter is cheap (so is the pre-filter) and there’s no replacement.I wonder if a pleated filter w/o pre-filter would work better? (A viewer had a youtube video on this)3. Poor ergonomics. The handle design also puts weight on your wrist because it’s a triangle handle design with the battery at the lower rear end. A D handle or reverse triangle handle shape (w battery on top) would significantly reduce stress on your wrist.Usage:Since it’s not strong enough to pick up small rocks, etc. I actually just use this compact vacuum for general household cleaning on hardwood floor vs the stick vacuums out there, as it’s similar weight (3.2 lb with 2.0Ah battery) and it’s enough power to pick up general lightweight debris/dirt/dust on hardwood floor and it works well that way. It’s more sturdy than other general purpose household stickup vacs and it uses Ridgid batteries so I have no worries locating a replacement battery. It is loud, so families having babies might not find this vac quiet enough for indoor household vacuuming.Recommendations:1. There’re many recent cordless vacuums with cyclone design achieving decent suction power while keeping size compact, and HEPA filters are common among cordless vacs now. Ridgid should look into getting these two features in if they claim to be the brand that has good vacs with powerful suctions.2. Increase dust bowl size slightly so won’t fill up so quickly3. Better ergonomics: D handle or reverse triangle. Will significantly reduce stress on wrist.4. Reduce noise a bit (add some insulation).I believe some of these above improvements will make this Ridgid compact vac a better vac to use.

It’s a great drill. I was should have bought the more expensive one because this one is not as powerful as I thought it would be.

I bought my first one last month. The performance was so impressive that I just ordered another. I confess that I am biased. I have three bags of 18v Ridgid products and love them all. And did I mention that they are guaranteed for life, INCLUDING THE BATTERY?Look no further, Ridgid and Home Depot are the ticket. (I am not employed by either and I have not gotten any incentive for writing this, although I wish I would have.)

It’s not a Dyson, but surprisingly good suction for a hand held vacuum of this type.

Purchased 2 of these. One for my son in-law…. he said how good it was so I bought one for my self…. so handy and works great. I had the batteries from my other tools so it was very inexpensive…. I have a very expensive hand held battery operated Dyson in the garage now. Going to sell the Dyson… this is much better…. Plus lifetime warranty…..

For $50 if you already have batteries, it’s a good little vacuum, enough suction, good sized dust cup and the extension wand means you don’t have to bend over to vacuum the floor. I wish they’d done a better job on the filter housing so the filter stayed cleaner. See a Dyson V7 cordless for an example of how modern filter housings should work, but it’s $50 and not $200 so I guess it will have to do.
