I am a huge Ridgid fan and always think that they make a quality product. I do side work on the weekends and wanted to get a small tool that could do multiple things and not take up a lot of space. I have the multi-tool attachment and the jig saw attachment for this. I am let down almost everytime I go to use this. If you are doing something really easy and quick it would be fine, but if it requires a little more power or time the tool quickly over heats and goes it safe mode and will not work until it cools down again. I would not purchase this again.

The sanding pad velcro detached from the back after first change of paper. Very poor quality sanding pad. Got also two attachments and tried the reciprocating saw. The blade that came with it was not good quality. The saw worked ok. It is not a fast cutter but for home use it is enough.

I watched a contractor use this tool and knew that I needed one instantly. This tool can be used for some many things and it actually works. I have been using Ridgid tools for a long time and never had issues with anything. Lifetime warranty is hard to beat. Excellent choice for home handyman but I also see a lot of contractors using Ridgid Tools.

I’ve been a fan of rigid cordless tools for years. I think they fill a great niche for the serous DIY’er who wants reliable performance and durability, but where the nuances of daily commercial use and the subtle features of more expensive tools don’t come into play. Rigid plays well in this arena.The JobMax Multi-Tool has become indispensable. I LOVE THIS TOOL! In addition to the standard head, I also have the roto head, the angle drill head, the reciprocating saw head and will buy the jigsaw head soon. Other than being a little long for some tight spaces, this tool is impressively capable. The drill head has impressive torque and the recipro. head is strong and easy to control.The head is a little tedious to change because you need to squeeze the release tabs very firmly with your fingertips, but the blade changes are simple and the blades are very secure. Battery life never has been an issue.Every time I use it, I thank myself for buying it. As with any multi tools, they rarely beat the effectiveness of a dedicated tool, but for life’s abundance of “this and that” small applications, it’s been the most effective and pleasing tool I’ve ever owned. With the variety of heads you will be amazed at what you can do to take on challenging tasks.If you do invest in the many heads, also (seriously) invest in a variety of blades – wood, metal, masonry, tile, grout, narrow/wide, long/short, etc. Sharp, quality blades that are SPECIFIC to the application make a marked difference, not only the tool’s performance, but the aesthetically pleasing outcome of your project. I keep all the parts in one tool bag and its the one I go to the most.
