The OCTANE MEGAMax Brushless 18-Volt Power Base (Tool Only) features high performance brushless motors and advanced electronics that provide best-in-class power and intelligence. The MEGAMax family is the Industry’s Most Powerful Interchangeable Tool System. This Power Base automatically recognizes each Attachment Head and configures the settings to match. While compatible with all RIDGID 18-Volt Batteries, OCTANE Tools provide maximum performance when paired with OCTANE Batteries (not included) for high demand applications. This means, under heavy loads, the tool talks to the battery to determine when to draw maximum power to the motor, allowing the tool to increase performance and finish the task. This saw will not disappoint. I have to say that this saw puts my other saw to shame. Has all the great features that RIDGID provides toolless blade swap, open boot design, lever boot slide and orbital switch. What makes it so much better… The four position head,increased power, torque in a well designed quick change system. You can add the drill, and hammer drill to your kit and keep it all in a nice space saving bag.

This thing is a beast, when using the right angle attachment hang on because if it binds up it can throw you. I made the mistake of not using the supplied handle but won’t make use it again without it. It’s beefy and very powerful for us tradesmen Future yard attachments? We need a bandsaw please!

Take a jobmax and beef it up… now take that and add an SDS drill, a reciprocating saw and a right angle drill. Then make it cordless with the power of the new Ridgid octane battery system and you got yourself a beast of a tool. The versatility of this tool surpasses any single use tool on the market today. It’s made to last ,built solid and feels great in the hand. The torque is off the charts. When using the right angel drill head I was able to core out a 4 1/2 whole in two 2×12 without it slowing down even a little. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this tool. It has to be one of the most professional tools Ridgid has ever brought to market.

Raw Power !I’m not sure what I would do without this set up. I now have the power of a corded tool in a battery powered tool. The right angle drill has no problem boring 2 1/2 ” holes in 2×4’s for plumbing pipes. The saw is just fantastic, so much better than my corded saw. It has lots of power and versatility. With this set up you have four positions to choose from, which is very handy. If I’m in a tight spot or next to the floor I just pull the head and rotate. The hammer drill has lots of torque and takes the SDS bits.Has a built in depth rod and 3 modes to choose from. With this system I can carry all the tools in one bag that is not only convenient, but saves precious space. The power and run times are great. Tools are very ergonomic and easy to handle and operate. Has all the great features that RIDGID provides, all backed by the LIFETIME warranty.

Fantastic Addition!!The first thing you notice about this attachment to the new MegaMax is the weight! Wow at 5lbs alone, you know it’s going to handle some serious demo! And that it does. Holds the line without jumping as well. Coupled with the new power base and a 6 or 9ah battery, it’s ready for any task!

Wonderful set up easy blade change. 4 postition head with the right blades anything is possible. Short metal cutting blade was like a hot knife through butter on a heavy gauge culvert. Choice between rotation or standard cutting is AWESOME

Wow, wow, wow! Just when you think Ridgid can’t get any better, they introduce MegaMax, a powerful beast! This is quite frankly the most powerful battery operated tool we own and is equally as powerful as many of our corded tools. The Megamax has three separate heads which are sold individually, we acquired the angle drill, recip saw and hammer drill. The torque is outstanding and the tools are easy to use , light weight and extremely powerful. Well done Ridgid, one of the best tools we have owned in a long time.

I don’t quite understand how the designers were able to deliver so much power in something that can be detached and changed out, but wow, I’m impressed! So far I can only speak to the recip saw attachment at this point because that is what I primarily wanted and ripped open when I got it. The recip saw attachment has amazing power and cut through my project like butter! (I guess a recip saw is only as good as the blades you have on it but with the diablo blades I got at Home Depot it was awesome). I gotta be honest, I wasn’t expecting the awesome computerized beep sounds to happen with I attached the battery. That was pretty cool and felt like I was locked and loaded!
