The MEGAMax family is the Industry’s Most Powerful Interchangeable Tool System. This Power Base automatically recognizes each Attachment Head and configures the settings to match. While compatible with all RIDGID 18-Volt Batteries, OCTANE Tools provide maximum performance when paired with OCTANE Batteries (not included) for high demand applications. This means, under heavy loads, the tool talks to the battery to determine when to draw maximum power to the motor, allowing the tool to increase performance and finish the task. 100% crazy, insane, powerful awesome, Megatron looking beast. This does it all, and it does it better than anything in it’s class. The Octane power is no joke, and will not only compete with corded versions of the same tool, but in many cases, beat them. This new MEGAMax is three tools in one, and the most versatile piece of equipment that I have ever owned. First, the angle drill is seriously powerful. I know this phrase is over used, but it really does do through wood like a hot knife through butter. So simple to attach, and with for different positions, the ergonomics of this machine is awesome. The rotary head is an all out crazy beast. You can set it to regular drill mode, or insane earth shaking mode. I will drive a 3/4 inch hole into concrete in seconds. It takes an SDS bit, but very easy to use the quick release on this unit. The recip head is definitely the life of the party. 3,100 spm, and it will eat anything you put in front of it. I used it to cut through a 2×2″ piece of solid metal, and it never slowed down. Even when I put my full body weight on it, I could not get it to show signs of weakness. As mentioned, the heas take a second to change out, and the different positions you can put them is are just awesome. Not to mention, the other cool features such as “Lock On” that allows you to chisel continuously without having to pull the trigger the entire time. It also has a safety/attached indicator on this monster. As for weight, it’s a little bigger/longer than the regular OCTANE recip, but its an all out beast. You really need to try this to understand how awesome it really is!

Powerful, Works well while wearing gloves. Combined with diablo blades there isn’t much you can’t cut thru.Battery lasts a good long time. I haven’t used it in the field long enough to deplete it. ( at least on a single job)

Used it to get between the roof 2 x 12 trusses to sister in two more 2 x 12, one on each side of the cracked one. Drilled 1/2″ holes through all three to bolt the trusses together. Plenty of power and the angle drill fit nicely into the 13″ inch space between the trusses. JR

Beauty And A… BEAST!!Leave it to RIDGID for consistently great innovation! Been using the JobMax for years and like many other pros, craved a heavier duty version. Prayers answered! This new power base is simply fantastic. Coupled with the new 9ah batt, this thing is definitely the baddest on the block!! I added the angle drill, recip saw and hammer drill options. Really easy to set up and use. Angle drill cut through joists with a big bore like it was nothing! The recip attachment feels heavier than expected which is great for demo as sometimes the ‘jumping’ with lighter versions cuts down on efficiency. Also helps hold the line. Used the SDS to drill 1″ bores through a solid poured foundation… no problemo!! Simply Awesome!!

If you are going to cut steel with a Ridgid tool you should have the MegaMax with the Octane batteries! the drive of the MegaMax is larger than the standard Octane drive Recip Saw. It really is a Must Have!
