A little disappointed in the performance and that’s why I didn’t give it five stars. I really like Ridgid tools and have been converting over to them. This was a change from a Ridgid corded circular saw to this cordless saw. I got spoiled by the power of the corded saw so this was a let down, but the ease of use is worth it to me as a homeowner. The cordless feature is really nice and it does cut very well, just not as fast.

I love it! Very light yet plenty of power. Well balanced in your hand. Has a two stage trigger which is not cumbersome to engage. And of course it’s extremely handy being cordless

It’s a really great tool. It is heavier than I expected (much more than my Makita 120V) and that makes it a bit awkward to use. It’s not hard on batteries and cuts well. Lots of good features. It really is more of a 4.5 with a .5 star off for it’s weight (it’s even heavy without the battery). But don’t order this one – order one with the battery since it’s much cheaper for the pair. I was in a rush and used it with my older drill battery which worked fine.

Much better than old one (when it does not cut out). My main complaint with saw is that it kept shutting off w a brand new 4ampHr battery. would not run for more than 3-4 sec then cut out. My batteries are not the octane version (much cheaper to use Rigid standard batteries). Was going to return it but then started working? Seemed to need to “burn in” amp limiting circuit? Still will cut out if it senses binding a little too much, but I guess that makes sense. Not good for ripping, but pretty good for plywood or cross cuts. The Dewalt 20v brushless is much better and quite a bit more powerful and better for same money but I wanted Lifetime warranty and one type of battery system for my collection. The other downside is hard to find battery combo packs from HD any more so you only get 3 year on batteries purchased separately (not lifetime) which was one main motivator with going with Rigid in the 1st place.

Saw works great. You need to cut in a straight line or it will cause the blade to stop easier than a corded saw. You normally want a straight cut so that shouldn’t be an issue.

When I bought this months ago, I gave it a bad review. But I’ve now framed 3 homes with it and it’s done the job. It will bind easy and come to a halt, but all in all, it’s performing as it is expected. I wished it was lighter or at least made a 6 1/2 model, but it’s been doing the job.
