It is a “man’s” saw, very heavy for a saw of this type. I’m using it with a 6ah octane battery, plenty of power for any job so far. Still on its first charge, so battery charge is holding very well. Love the light & dust blower to keep operator on track. My only gripe would be how well I can hold up using it all day due because of its weight.

I’m a apprentice carpenter and bought this saw to use at work. Works excellent does everything I need it to and runs for a long time with the 6AH octane battery. Only gripe I have with this saw though is the base plate. It’s hard to read and hard to figure out where your blade is going to cut which makes it hard to track on long cuts. Wish the base plate was like the DeWalt cordless saws I use sometimes at work easy to read and tracks very well. And only other thing I don’t really like about this saw is the weight but it’s not like it’s hanging of my tool belt so it’s not a huge problem just makes the saw cumbersome sometimes. Other than that saw does its job and does it well I would recommend this product to other carpenter appreciates of mine.

This is a great heavy dury saw! I recommend using a 4ah battery or larger for maximum power and decent battery life. Safety trigger is easy to use and the blade brake on this thing is amazing.

I have dodged buying a cordless circular saw for a long time as, except for the convenience of being cordless, I did not need it. I have a quality corded circular saw that has served my DIY and hobby needs well for over thirty years. This finally came on sale for an acceptable price so I bought it.My expectations were not high but, still, the convenience of cordless lured me into the purchase. The power is impressive. I do not believe that it is comparable to my corded circular saw but it is blows right through a 2×4 or 2×6 boards, on a cross cut, without a hint of stalling, binding or grabbing. I expect that it will rip just as well.I also like the stop brake. That is an excellent safety feature. I ripped my thumb badly on a broken down discount table saw last summer. My new table saw, also a Rigid, has a stop brake too.I have been a Milwaukee and Makita loyalist most of my life but you cannot go wrong with with the Rigid lifetime service agreement. I did have one occasion to use that warranty on a sander that was just over three years old. A couple of weeks after leaving the sander at the Home Depot shop, I got it back working like new.

It is ready out of the box. I have used it to.do a ton of work already. Plenty of power. I purchased a finishing blade to go with it since most of my builds where furniture. Primary wood is walnut, or pine. Been awesome so far.Safety is awkward at first but much easier after several uses.
