The saw is powerful but you have to spend the extra money and get the upgraded batteries or have a lot with a lot of chargers. Very ergonomic build and comfortable to use. Rigid is taking the place of all my power tools. They are affordable but also pack a punch. Absolutely no complaint just make sure you get the upgraded batteries (that also work for everything else!)

I bought this because the octane drills are great. This is not as good for long or hard cuts; I tried some 3/8″ plywood and it would bog down and just stop working; I believe the battery turned off to keep from overheating but I am speculating. I also tried it on 1/4 inch steel cargo container… I knew this would be a hard cut so I expected this to fail but not the way it did. I started cutting from the end and slowly cut all the way through all the way down expecting it to fail and it did but when I tried to score the metal the blade (metal cutoff wheel for circular saws) would cut into it just enough to go into the pain and the think would stop (again battery would shut off).I have used this on wet PT 2×12 and it works great… a little slow and underpowered but it gets the job done and for the convenience it is worth it; anything beyond that, tool is limited.
