Impressive for a battery powered rotary hammer. Battery life was much better than expected. I used this tool for a tough tile removal job and I got tired before the battery did.

I work for a commercial contractor that does very large jobs. I got sick of lugging cords and generators all over jobsites to be able to run my tools so I started buying ridgid cordless tools a few years back. The lifetime warranty and overall quality of the tools were enough to entice me. Now i own just about every cordless tool ridgid makes along with who knows how many battery packs and this roto hammer was a very nice addition to my collection. With a 9ah battery i can do everything with this unit that my corded milwaukee does. Not to talk bad about my milwaukee as it is a very solid tool but the convenience of being able to go weeks at a time without busting out a cord or generator has been such a treat. The lifetime warranty has been great too however sometimes it can take a few weeks to get your tools fixed when needed but that sure beats buying new tools all the time from the constant abuse they see on commercial constructon sites. Keep it up ridgid!

I needed to drill some 1/2″ redhead anchor holes on a rock face above the water at the lake to secure some stair supports and such. My 18v Ridgid hammer drill just bounced off of the rock. So I thought about getting some AC down there but not too excited with AC + H2O. So I bought this SDS battery drill. I drilled 5 holes up to 4″ deep. My battery was at 3 bars at first and it still had one bar when done. I used a Bosch bit with the drill and it was zero problems drill into the rock! It worked great!!

This tool is awesome. So far, I’ve only used it to drill 3/16″ holes in concrete for screw-type anchors, and it has worked awesome. Although I haven’t compared it side-by-side it seems to drill about as fast as the corded SDS hammer drills I’ve used. I bought it to install a vinyl handrail with steel inserts, and a metal handrail for a garage. I haven’t used its hammer/chisel feature, so I can’t comment on that.Pros:-Small (doesn’t take up much space, and the handle can rotate, or even be removed to fit in your tool bag/box-Lightweight-Built in shock absorber does its job well, comfortable to use-Extremely portable (this one’s obvious, but not needing a cord is awesome)-Lasts well when drilling (I drilled 24 holes about 3″ deep and 3/16″ diameter with a 4 amp-hour battery, and it only dropped it 1 bar [from 4 to 3] on the built in fuel meter)-Depth gauge is handy for measuring hole depthCons:-Depth gauge slides easily (When drilling if you go until the depth gauge rod touches the concrete, it will get pushed back, and your hole will end up deeper than the gauge was originally set. To be fair, this may be the case with all depth gauges, as they are probably meant to be watched carefully, and not to physically stop the drill from penetrating further. So really this wasn’t a big deal, just something I noticed)-A little spendy for a bare tool, but worth it for those who already have ridgid tools and batteries and have a need for a concrete drill

Very steady in hand and the right amount of power to tackle even the toughest anchor jobs. Highly recommend!

I was absolutely surprised that this tool had so much torque. It had the power that I needed to perform my job. I do recommend that a bigger battery be used for this tool because on the down side it are my battery very quickly, however I was using a 3 am battery. I’m glad I bought this one…

Love the drill. Does as I had hoped it would. I have trouble getting the bit out of the block/concrete. Otherwise very happy with it.

I purchased this drill to see if I could retire my old 120vac rotary hammer drill. Used it the first day at a job with no electric. Drilled 1/2 ” hole through a 8″ foundation concrete wall in seconds. And a few more times with the same battery, bo problem. Good by extension chords.
