RIDGID introduces the 18-Volt OCTANE Brushless 1 in. SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer with 18-Volt 2.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery and Charger Kit. The 18-Volt OCTANE Brushless 1 in. SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer (Tool Only) features high performance brushless motors and advanced electronics that provide best-in-class power and intelligence. While providing increased performance with all RIDGID 18-Volt Batteries, OCTANE Tools provide maximum performance when paired with OCTANE Batteries. Paired with an OCTANE Battery, this tool provides over 50% faster drilling for high demand applications. This means, under heavy loads, the tool talks to the battery to determine when to draw maximum power to the motor, allowing the tool to increase performance and finish the task. The 18-Volt Charger features Rapid Charge Time, Smart Charging, Cold/Hot Warning, and Energy Save Mode. The 2 Ah battery gives users prolonged run time and more charges over its lifetime compared to standard lithium-ion batteries. With registration, this kit is backed by the Industry’s Only Lifetime Service Agreement. The OCTANE 1 in. SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer includes an auxiliary handle assembly with depth stop rod, a 2.0 Ah Battery, an 18-Volt Charger, and an operator’s manual.

Ain’t no hammer drill! Nothing like those drills with the hammer option. All this is made for is to drill into hard substrate and does it EFFORTLESSLY! So quick through the cement between the bricks of my home that if I had a longer bit, I’d had gone through my interior drywall. QUICK! 1. 2. Through (3-4 inches deep). With little pressure. Very happy. Can’t wait til I get some more bits to see how much more it can do.

I work for a commercial contractor that does very large jobs. I got sick of lugging cords and generators all over jobsites to be able to run my tools so I started buying ridgid cordless tools a few years back. The lifetime warranty and overall quality of the tools were enough to entice me. Now i own just about every cordless tool ridgid makes along with who knows how many battery packs and this roto hammer was a very nice addition to my collection. With a 9ah battery i can do everything with this unit that my corded milwaukee does. Not to talk bad about my milwaukee as it is a very solid tool but the convenience of being able to go weeks at a time without busting out a cord or generator has been such a treat. The lifetime warranty has been great too however sometimes it can take a few weeks to get your tools fixed when needed but that sure beats buying new tools all the time from the constant abuse they see on commercial constructon sites. Keep it up ridgid!
